Kaiserstuhl is a former municipalities of Switzerland, municipality in the district of Zurzach (district), Zurzach in the Cantons of Switzerland, canton of Aargau in Switzerland. The small town is listed as a Swiss inventory of cultural property of national and regional significance, heritage site of national significance. On 1 January 2022 the former municipalities of Bad Zurzach, Baldingen, Aargau, Baldingen, Böbikon, Kaiserstuhl, Rekingen, Rietheim, Aargau, Rietheim, Rümikon and Wislikofen merged into the new municipality of Zurzach. The Kaiserstuhl (, "Emperor’s Chair") is a range of hills in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany with a maximum height of . It is of volcanic origin and located in the southwest of the state in the counties of Emmendingen and Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald. In terms of natural regions it is considered to be a part of the Upper Rhine Plain. Name The name "Kaiserstuhl" is believed to refer to King Otto III, who held court near Sasbach on 22 December 994. From then on, the whole hill range was called the Königsstuhl – the King’s Chair. In May 996, Otto III was crowned Emperor and the King’s Chair eventually became the Emperor’s Chair – "Kaiserstuhl". Reliable sources mention the name Kaiserstuhl only as early as 1304 and historians thus suppose that the term Kaiserstuhl was not coined until the 13th century. Kaiserstuhl (Obwalden)
Lungern is a municipality in the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland. It encompasses Lake Lungern and, besides the village of Lungern, the settlements of Bürglen, Kaiserstuhl and Obsee. Geography The village of Lungern lies above sea level in the highest part of the canton of Obwalden, on the eastern shore of the Lake of Lungern and at the foot of the Brünig Pass. It is the highest village of the Sarneraa-Valley, in a basin open only to the north and surrounded on all other sides by steep and woody inclinations and rocks. To the south-west the municipality extends to the Brünig Pass. On its north-western side, the municipal boundary is set by the Wilerhorn and Höch Gumme mountains, and includes the whole of the Lake of Lungern. __NOTOC__ The Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park is a protected area located in the Australian state of South Australia in the suburb of Flaxman Valley about north-east of the state capital of Adelaide and about south-east of the town of Tanunda. The conservation park consists of land in sections 531, 623, 730, 732, 733, 736, 737, 844, 859, 860, 861 and 862 in the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Moorooroo and which is an area bounded in the east by a sealed road, Tanunda Creek Road. The Heysen Trail, the long distance walking trail, passes along the west side of the conservation park. It was proclaimed under the ''National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972'' on 3 May 1979 for the above-mentioned parcels of land with exception to sections 859, 860, 861 and 862 which were added by proclamation on 3 December 1987. Kaiserstuhl (throne)
The imperial throne at Goslar (german: Kaiserstuhl Goslar) was made in the second half of the 11th century and was the throne of Holy Roman Emperors and kings in the Collegiate Church of St. Simon and St. Jude ("Goslar Cathedral"), which stood in the grounds of the Imperial Palace of Goslar (''Kaiserpfalz Goslar''). Along with the Krodo Altar it is one of the most important, surviving artefacts from the demolished cathedral. The throne comprises three sides (a backrest and two armrests), which were cast from bronze, and a stone plinth with a seat. The metal was mined in the nearby Rammelsberg hill. The cast sides with their luxurious, swirling decorations, pomegranates and pierced palmetto leaves are among the most important Salian bronze castings. Kaiserstuhl Railway
The Kaiserstuhl Railway (german: Kaiserstuhlbahn) is a railway in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is owned and operated by the Südwestdeutsche Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft (SWEG), which in turn is owned by the state of Baden-Württemberg. The ''Kaiserstuhlbahn'' consists of two joined sections, from Gottenheim via Riegel Ort to Endingen am Kaiserstuhl, and Riegel DB station via Endingen am Kaiserstuhl to Breisach. Together these lines circumnavigate the Kaiserstuhl mountain range on its east, north and west sides. At both Gottenheim and Breisach junctions are made with the Freiburg to Breisach Railway, which completes the circumnavigation to the south. At Riegel DB station, a further junction is made to the Freiburg im Breisgau to Offenburg section of the mainline Rhine Valley Railway.
