Kaili Chun
Kaili Chun (born 1962) is a Native Hawaiians, Native Hawaiian sculptor and installation artist. She also is a lecturer at Kapiolani Community College, Kapi'olani Community College. Her works frequently address Hawaiian culture and history as well as the effects of Westernization. Natural and industrial materials are also common in her artworks. Early life and education Chun was born on Oahu, O'ahu and attended Kamehameha Schools. Her parents are of mixed ancestry and both are part Native Hawaiian. As an undergraduate earning her B.A. in Architecture at Princeton University, Chun studied under ceramic artist Toshiko Takaezu. Chun went on to earn her Master of Fine Arts, MFA from the University of Hawai'i-Manoa in 1999. Hawaiʻi Public Radio (HPR), is a network of commercial and listener-supported stations broadcasting two streams on fifteen frequencies across the state of Hawaii. It is the statewide member of National Public Radio (NPR). The Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience is a history museum in Seattle, Washington, United States, which focuses on the culture, art and history of Asian Pacific Americans. It is located in the city's Chinatown-International District. The Honolulu Museum of Art Spalding House, formerly The Contemporary Museum, Honolulu, was integrated into the Honolulu Museum of Art under this name.
