Kahuku High School
Kahuku High & Intermediate School, located in Kahuku CDP, City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii, United States, on the island of Oahu, serves approximately 1,850 students in grades seven through twelve and is part of the Windward District on the island of Oahu. It is a part of the Hawaii Department of Education. The students of Kahuku are enrolled from the communities of Kaaawa, Hauula, Laie, Kahuku, and Sunset Beach which span a twenty-six mile stretch along the North Shore. Known as the "Pride of the North Shore," Kahuku High and Intermediate has academic and athletic programs and a Music Learning Center that features band and choral music which have garnered state and national recognition. Kahuku () is a census-designated place (CDP) in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. In the Hawaiian language, ''ka huku'' means "the projection", presumably a reference to Kahuku Point nearby, the northernmost point of land on the island of Oahu. As of the 2010 Census, Kahuku had a population of 2,614. Geography Kahuku is located at . This community is located northwest from Laie and east from Kuilima and Kawela Bay along Kamehameha Highway ( Route 83). Salu Hunkin-Finau
Salu Hunkin-Finau (born ?) is an American Samoan educator, politician, and academic administrator. She is the former president of American Samoa Community College. In February 2012, Hunkin announced her candidacy for Governor of American Samoa in the November 2012 gubernatorial election, becoming the first female candidate for governor since 2000. Hunkin was born in Vailoatai, American Samoa, to parents, the late Faauaa Eni Hunkin Sr. and Taualaitufanuaimeaatamalii Liufau Tufaga Manu. Hunkin is one of eight siblings, including her brother, Eni Faleomavaega, who has served as Delegate to the United States House of Representatives from American Samoa's At-large congressional district from 1989 through 2014. Asai Alohilaniokala "Alohi" Gilman (born September 17, 1997) is an American football safety for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Notre Dame and Navy. College career Gilman played his freshman year at the United States Naval Academy. He played in all 14 of the Midshipmen's games and was named honorable mention All-American Athletic Conference after finishing second on the team with 76 tackles along with five passes defended and two fumble recoveries. Aaron Francisco (born July 5, 1983) is a former American football safety. He was signed by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He played college football at BYU. He was also a member of the Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions. Toniuolevaiavea Satele Fonoti (born November 26, 1981) is a Samoan-born former player of American college and professional football who was a guard in the National Football League (NFL) for five seasons during the early 2000s. He played college football for the University of Nebraska, and earned consensus All-American honors. The San Diego Chargers picked him in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft, and he played professionally for the Chargers, Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins of the NFL. Bradlee Joseph Ioane Anae ( ; born January 17, 1998) is an American football defensive end for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Utah. Al Mitchell Afalava (born January 20, 1987) is a former American football safety. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Makuakai (Makua) Rothman (born June 17, 1984) is an American big wave rider, professional surfer and musician. On February 28, 2015, he was crowned the 2015 Big Wave World Champion in the World Surf League's (WSL) first sanctioned Big Wave World Tour (BWWT). Tanoai Reed (born February 10, 1974) is an American stuntman and actor. He is the cousin and stunt double of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Reed was born in Honolulu, Hawaii of Samoan and Norwegian, Swedish, Irish descent.
