Gibran Khalil Gibran ( ar, جُبْرَان خَلِيل جُبْرَان, , , or , ; January 6, 1883 – April 10, 1931), usually referred to in English as Kahlil Gibran (pronounced ), was a Lebanese-American writer, poet and visual artist, also considered a philosopher although he himself rejected the title. He is best known as the author of '' The Prophet'', which was first published in the United States in 1923 and has since become one of the best-selling books of all time, having been translated into more than 100 languages. Kahlil Ashanti (born November 3, 1973 in Landstuhl, Germany) is an American actor and writer. Kahlil Ashanti began his career as a teenager, performing at a community theater and at open mic nights at comedy clubs throughout the Midwestern United States. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force, winning the 1993 Air Force Worldwide Talent Contest, after which he toured with the elite Air Force Entertainment troupe Tops in Blue in 1994 and 1995 as a comedian, dancer, and actor. After being honorably discharged in 1996, Kahlil performed his own magic and comedy dinner theater show at Caesar's Magical Empire, Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas from 1997–2000. Kahlil Rafiq Carter, (born September 13, 1976) is a former professional gridiron football player and coach. College football From 1994 to 1997, Carter walked-on to the University of Arkansas' football team along with Brandon Burlsworth who inspired the movie Greater. Kahlil Cato (born 10 March 1977) was born in Bridgetown, Barbados, but competed for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, United States, he was a sprinter. Kahlil Dukes (born May 17, 1995) is an American basketball player for Best Balıkesir of the Turkish Basketball First League. He played college basketball for the University of Southern California (USC) and Niagara University and was named the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year. College career A point guard and Hartford, Connecticut native, Dukes attended Capital Prep Magnet School and scored 2,238 points for his high school career. Kahlil G. Gibran (`ka-lil jə-ˈbrän) (November 29, 1922 – April 13, 2008), sometimes known as "Kahlil George Gibran" (note the artist's preferred Americanized spelling of his first name), was a Lebanese American painter and sculptor from Boston, Massachusetts.
