Kaer Azami
Wan Mohammad Khair Wan Azami Hamzah (born 30 August 1985), popularly known as Kaer Azami, is a Malaysian singer-turned- designer. He was born and raised in Petaling Jaya. He represented Malaysia in various international art competitions during his elementary and high school. He won first prize in most of the competition. He was sent to Sri Bestari and Inai Beacon House International for his early education. He is the son of a famous architect Wan Azami bin Hamzah. His mother Kharidah Kadir is the daughter of the late Dato' Abdul Kadir from Sri Menanti who used to be the Speaker of Negeri Sembilan. Kaer Azami rose to prominence by coming sixth in the second season of a popular television talent show. Akademi Fantasia, Season 2
The second season of ''Akademi Fantasia'' premiered on 7 June 2004 and concluded on 14 August 2004 on the Astro Ria television channel. Aznil Nawawi continued as the show's host, while Kudsia Kahar returned as judges. The second season was won by Ahmad Zahid Baharuddin, who defeated Norlinda Nanuwil. This season also featured Kaer Azami, who would subsequently win the 2008 Malaysian Music Awards for Best Song. Unlike previous season which was solely opened for people from Peninsular Malaysia, this season was eligible for contestants from East Malaysia. The final 12 contestants were revealed in ''Tirai Akademi Fantasia'' which was aired at the end of May and early June. ''Akademi Fantasia'' (commonly abbreviated as ''AF'') is Malaysia's first reality television show in which a number of contestants called students compete for the winning title and a chance to start their career in the entertainment industry. The first season premiered on 3 June 2003 and was one of Astro Ria's highest rated shows. The theme song entitled "Menuju Puncak" was performed by Juwita Suwito, who is the sister of the composer, Aubrey Suwito. The format of the show is taken from "La Academia", which originated from Mexico. Malaysia is the first country in Southeast Asia to have its own version of the show. Subsequently, it has also been followed by Indonesia and Thailand, which garners positive response in comparison to the American Idol, Idol series. ERA (formerly Era FM) is a Malaysian Malay-language radio station operated by Astro Radio Sdn. Bhd. The radio station broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
