Kadri Prishtina
Kadri Prishtina (1878–1925), better known as Hoxha Kadri, was an Albanian political figure of the early 1920s. Life Hoxha Kadriu was born in Prishtina, in the Kosovo Vilayet of the Ottoman Empire. He took the first studies in his home town in Turkish language, studying later in Uskub school "Dar ul-Mualimin". He studied law and education in Istanbul, first in the Private Pegagogical Schools "Darüttedris" and later in the "Fatih" Medrese. On February 4, 1902 he joined the Young Turks movement. In 1904 he was arrested by Ottoman authorities because of his refusals to point to the author of "Fitret ul-Islâm", a problematic and controversial essay on the Islam religion, with Syrja Bey Vlora as author. He spent four years in Yedikule prison where he lost a leg due to gangrene. After his released he was interned in Tokat in north-eastern Anatolia where he worked as a lawyer. The Young Turk Revolution (July 1908) was a constitutionalist revolution in the Ottoman Empire. The Committee of Union and Progress (CUP), an organization of the Young Turks movement, forced Sultan Abdul Hamid II to restore the Ottoman Constitution and recall the parliament, which ushered in multi-party politics within the Empire. From the Young Turk Revolution to the Empire's end marks the Second Constitutional Era of the Ottoman Empire's history. Bajram Curri
Bajram Curri (16 January 1862 – 29 March 1925) was an Albanian chieftain, politician and activist who struggled for the independence of Albania, later struggling for Kosovo's incorporation into it following the 1913 Treaty of London. He was posthumously given the title Hero of Albania. Early life Bajram Curri was born in 1862 or 1866 in Rahovec. Most of the sources place year of birth as 1862, while more recent sources based on his recently discovered passport state 1866. His family originated in Krasniqi (present Tropojë), in the Highlands of Gjakova. Sali Nivica
Sali Nivica or Sali Nivitza (May 15, 1890 – January 10, 1920) was a politician, a patriot, an Albanian journalist and a teacher. For his patriotic activity he received the highest Albanian award, 'Honour of the Nation' as well as that of 'Teacher of the People'. Nivica was born in Rexhin village in the southern Ottoman Albania, today's Tepelenë. Early life Nivica went to school in Monastir (1904-1907) where he was inspired by the rebel Bajo Topulli. Bedri Pejani
Bedri Pejani (or Bedri bej Ipeku; 10 October 1885 – 6 July 1946) was 20th century Albanian politician. During World War II, he was one of the founders of the Second League of Prizren. Biography Pejani was born in the city of İpek (now Peja) in the Kosovo Vilayet of the Ottoman Empire on 10 October 1885 with the name Bedri Thaçi, son of Abdi Thaçi (Pejani). To refer to his family origin he used the last name ''Pejani'' (from Ipek) as was custom for that period. Hysni Curri
Hysni Curri (?–1925) was a Kosovar Albanian military figure and a prominent leader of the Kachak movement and the Committee for the National Defence of Kosovo. Life Curri was the nephew and close collaborator of Bajram Curri, a well-known fighter and activist during the early 20th century. He was born in Yakova, Vilayet of Kosovo, Ottoman Empire. He had military background and would embrace the Albanian National Awakening movement.
