Kadhalukku Mariyadhai
''Kadhalukku Mariyadhai'' () is a 1997 Indian Tamil-language musical romantic drama film directed by Fazil. It is the Tamil remake of Fazil's own Malayalam film '' Aniyathipraavu'' (1997). The film stars Vijay and Shalini (reprising her role from the original) while Sivakumar, Srividya, Manivannan, Dhamu, Charle, Thalaivasal Vijay and Radha Ravi play supporting roles. The film tells the story of a couple of differing backgrounds and beliefs and how they unite amidst the opposition of their families. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja with cinematography by Anandakuttan. The film was released on 19 December 1997. It received positive reviews and became a box-office blockbuster. Abdul Hameed Muhammed Fazil (born 4 February 1949 in Alappuzha, Kerala), known mononymously as Fazil, is an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter and actor who works in Malayalam cinema, in addition to directing a handful of Tamil films and a Telugu film. He made his directional debut with the 1980 film ''Manjil Virinja Pookkal''. Abbas (born 21 May 1975 as Mirza Abbas Ali) is a former Indian actor and model from Kolkata, who has predominantly appeared in Tamil and Telugu films, and a few films in Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada. He made his debut with Kadhir's ''Kadhal Desam'' in 1996. Career Abbas grew up watching Hindi films.
