Suman Haripriya (born 1 June 1979) is an Indian film director, producer and politician. Personal life Haripriya was born on 1 June 1979 in Guwahati to Jiten Chakravarty and Bijoya Chakravarty. Her mother, Bijoya Chakravarty is ex-Member of Parliament of Bharatiya Janata Party from Gauhati (Lok Sabha constituency), Gauhati. Haripriya holds Master of Arts in Sociology from New Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia, Diploma in Film and Television from Noida's Asian Academy of Film & Television and Jyotish Acharya from New Delhi's Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Tapan Das (11 January 1962) is an Indian film actor, director and story writer in Assamese cinema and mobile theatre. He also performs in stage plays. Early life Das was born on 11 January 1962 in Guwahati. He has been associated with acting since early 80s when he was in high school. His father was an officer at PWD department in Assam, was frequently transferred from one place to another. So he had studied in different schools of Assam. He studied in the prestigious Assam Engineering College, as said by himself in an Interview. He became a popular actor by doing various stage plays in Guwahati. Assamese (), also Asamiya ( ), is an Indo-Aryan language spoken mainly in the north-east Indian state of Assam, where it is an official language, and it serves as a ''lingua franca'' of the wider region. Assamese cinema, also known as Jollywood, is an Indian film industry of Assamese-language motion pictures. It is based in Assam, India. The industry was born in 1935 when Jyoti Prasad Agarwala released his movie '' Joymoti''. Since then the Assamese cinema has developed a slow-paced, sensitive style, especially with the movies of Bhabendra Nath Saikia and Jahnu Barua. The industry is called Jollywood, named for Agarwala's Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio. The National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Assamese is one of the National Film Awards presented annually by the Directorate of Film Festivals, the organisation set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India. It is one of several awards presented for feature films and awarded with Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus). The National Film Awards, established in 1954, are the most prominent film awards in India that merit the best of the Indian cinema.
