Kachin Theological College
Kachin Theological College a nd Seminary (KTCS) is a member of the Association for Theological Education in South East Asia (ATESEA). It is located in Nawng Nang, Myitkyina, Kachin State, in the north of Myanmar. It is an evangelicalism, evangelical school under Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC). History Kachin Theological College and Seminary was founded in 1932 by missionaries in Bhamo, Kachin State. In 1935, the Bible School transferred to Kutkai, Northern Shan State, Course extended to 2 years. In, 1966 Bible School moved to the present campus situated in Nawng Nang, Myitkyina, Kachin State. Association For Theological Education In South East Asia
The Association for Theological Education in South East Asia (ATESEA) is an organisation of Christian seminaries and other tertiary institutes of theology. It is based in Manila, Philippines and currently networks 102 member institutions and schools in 16 countries. It also acts as an accreditation agency for theological education in the South East Asian region. ATESEA publishes the ''Asia Journal of Theology'', provides accreditation services, operates the South East Asia Graduate School of Theology, and promotes faculty development, theological renewal and contextualization in the light of the "Critical Asian Principle", while coordinating regional planning in Christian theological education. In 2007, ATESEA seminaries developed Guidelines for Doing Theologies in Asia', responding to the many challenges facing the region, including religious fundamentalism, ecological problems, natural disasters, globalisation and post-colonialism. Myitkyina
Myitkyina (, ; (Eng; ''mitchinar'') Jinghpaw: ''Myitkyina'', ) is the capital city of Kachin State in Myanmar (Burma), located from Yangon, and from Mandalay. In Burmese it means "near the big river", and Myitkyina is on the west bank of the Ayeyarwady River, just below from Myit-son (Burmese for confluence) of its two headstreams (the Mali and N'mai rivers). It is the northernmost river port and railway terminus in Myanmar. The city is served by Myitkyina Airport. History Myitkyina has been an important trading town between China and Myanmar since ancient times. American Baptist missionary George J.
