Kaarlo Juho Ståhlberg
Kaarlo Juho Ståhlberg (, ; 28 January 1865 – 22 September 1952) was a Finnish jurist and academic, which was one of the most important pioneers of republicanism in the country. He was the first president of Finland (1919–1925) and a liberal nationalist. Ståhlberg was an important figure in the years of the Finland's independence and constitution, driving his Republican program through adversity. As a jurist, he anchored the state in liberal democracy, guarded the fragile germ of the rule of law, and embarked on internal reforms. In implementing the form of government of 1919, Ståhlberg piloted an independent Finland towards acting in world politics; in presidential-led foreign and security policy, he relied on international law and diplomacy. Kaarlo Sarkia
Kaarlo Sarkia (11 May 1902 – 16 November 1945) was a Finnish poet and translator who was influenced by romantic poetry. His poems include motifs like childhood memories, love, landscapes and dreamworld, and in his last collection of poetry also his personal death and mankind's sufferings. Together with Uuno Kailas, Sarkia was the most prominent Finnish poet of the 1930s. As Kailas, his poetry also had homosexual themes. Sarkia published four collections of poetry between 1929 and 1943. In addition to his own works, Sarkia was known as a translator of French and Italian poetry. Sarkia was also a contemporary member of the Finnish literary group '' Tulenkantajat''. Sarkia never had a permanent home or regular job and he used to spend terms in sanatoriums. Kaarlo Verneri Rantanen (born 14 December 1988) is a Finnish former professional footballer who played as a forward. Career Rantanen progressed through the youth systems of Ilves, Orimattilan Pedot and Reipas before joining Lahti in early 2007. Rantanen made his debut in the Veikkausliiga on 11 May 2007 in the match against HJK Helsinki. He since left for Slovakia, where Rantanen signed with Topvar Topoľčany. Kaarlo Edvard Kivekäs
Kaarlo Edvard Kivekäs (6 December 1866, in Valkeala – 19 February 1940, in Hämeenlinna; original name ''Karl Edvard Backman'' until 1880) was a Finnish general. Educated at Hamina Cadet School (1886–1890), he served in the Russian army from 1890 on, in the Pamir area, under the command of, M.E. Ionova, the leader of a Russian Expedition in 1893, he was fluent in Shughni, Tajik, Uzbek, and Kyrgyz, and reportedly understanding of the traditions and cultures of the people of the Pamir area, who purportedly held him in high regard, ending his service there as a Lieutenant Colonel on October 13, 1908, and later Kivekäs served in World War I, becoming a Major General on September 23, 1916. Kaarlo Linkola (surname until 1906 Collan; 1888–1942) was a Finnish botanist and phytogeographer. Linkola was docent of botany at Helsinki University 1919–1922. He was professor of botany at University of Turku from 1922, and at Helsinki University from 1925 (in a newly established second chair of botany). He was head of the botanical institute from 1926, dean of the ''Faculty of Science'' for two periods (1930–1933 and 1936–1938) and rector of Helsinki University 1938–1941. Linkola's doctoral dissertation (1916) dealt with the impact of culture of vegetation in Southern Karelia. Kaarlo Olavi Kangasniemi (born 4 February 1941) is a retired Finnish weightlifter. Between 1968 and 1972 he won one Olympic, two world and two European titles in the 90 kg division, becoming the only Finnish weightlifter to win either an Olympic or world title. In the same period he set 16 ratified world records: four in the press, seven in the snatch and five in the total. He placed sixth at the 1972 Olympics and seventh in 1964. Kangasniemi was chosen as the world's best weightlifter in 1969 and as the Finnish Sports Personality of the Year in 1968 and 1969. Kaarlo Anton "Kalle" Koskelo (12 April 1888 – 21 December 1953) was a Greco-Roman wrestler from Finland who won the featherweight event at the 1912 Olympics. Kaarlo Castrén (28 February 1860 – 19 November 1938) was a Finnish politician and Prime Minister of Finland. He represented the National Progressive Party. Castrén was born in Turtola and graduated in 1887 as a Bachelor of Law. From 1888 to 1892, he worked in the finance division of the Senate of Finland, and from 1888 to 1898 in the Castrén & Snellman attorneys-at-law office. From 1892 to 1904, Castrén was a member of the board in the Kansallis-Osake-Pankki bank. He attended the state board meetings in 1894 and from 1905 to 1906. He was Senator from 1908 to 1909, after which he founded an attorney-at-law office. In 1916, Castrén was elected as the director of Kansallis-Osake-Pankki. Kaarlo Uskela (4 March 1878 – 19 April 1922) was a Finnish satiric author, poet and anarchist. Uskela is best known of his 1921 anthology ''Pillastunut runohepo'' which was banned in 1933, eleven years after Uskela's death. Uskela was born into a working-class family in Tampere and worked as a typesetter for several newspapers. From 1900 to 1907 Uskela lived in Sweden where he became interested in anarchism.
