Kaare Norum
Kaare Reidar Norum (24 December 1932 – 22 November 2019) was a Norwegian physician and professor of nutrition. He served as rector of the University of Oslo from 1999 to 2001. He was born in Oslo. He was hired as a docent at the University of Oslo in 1969 and advanced to professor in 1972. He served as vice dean of the University of Oslo Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine from 1983 to 1985, dean from 1986 to 1988 and rector from 1999 to 2001. He was a fellow of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters since 1986; Commander of the Order of St. Olav in 1999 (Knight since 1992) and Commander of the Order of the Polar Star. Norum became a member of in 1971 and chaired the council several times. He appeared numerous times in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, speaking on topics within nutrition, notably together with Ingrid Espelid Hovig. The rector of the University of Oslo is the university's highest officer, who serves as both its chief executive, its ceremonial head and as chairperson of the university board. The rector is directly elected among the (full) professors by all the members of the university community, that is academic employees, students and technical-administrative staff, who received the right to vote in this order. Lucy Caroline Smith
Lucy Caroline Smith (née Dahl; 12 October 1934 – 27 August 2013) was a Norwegians, Norwegian legal scholar and professor of law at the University of Oslo. She served as rector of the university from 1993 to 1998. She was a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. In 1987 she became Norway's first female (full) professor of law. She has published the book ''Foreldremyndighet og barnerett''. Smith was a member of the U.N. Committee on the Rights of the Child. Erik Thorsby
Erik Stein Thorsby (July 13, 1938 – March 23, 2021) was a Norwegian physician and professor at the University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital. He carried out research in immunology, specializing in transplant immunology. Career Thorsby studied medicine at the University of Oslo and graduated in 1963. In 1969, he earned his doctorate in medicine. Thorsby introduced tissue typing and transplant immunology as a field of study in Norwegian medicine, used for identifying tissue type–compatible donors and recipients in transplants. He was also involved in launching Scandiatransplant, the Nordic cooperation organization for organ transplants. He worked at Ullevål University Hospital and Oslo University Hospital.
