KRQX-FM (98.9 MHz) is an American radio station licensed to serve the community of Hurricane, Utah. The station is owned by G. Craig Hanson, through licensee Redrock Broadcasting, Inc. The station was assigned the KBZB call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on May 26, 1999. The station began regular broadcast operations in August 1999. Toquerville ( ) is a city in east–central Washington County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,370 at the 2010 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , all land. Ash Creek flows through the community. Utah State Route 17 passes through the community and connects with Interstate 15 2.5 miles north of the community. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 910 people, 282 households, and 236 families residing in the town. The population density was 64.3 people per square mile (24.8/km2). In broadcasting and radio communications, a call sign (also known as a call name or call letters—and historically as a call signal—or abbreviated as a call) is a unique identifier for a transmitter station. A call sign can be formally assigned by a government agency, informally adopted by individuals or organizations, or even cryptographically encoded to disguise a station's identity. The use of call signs as unique identifiers dates to the landline railroad telegraph system. Because there was only one telegraph line linking all railroad stations, there needed to be a way to address each one when sending a telegram. In order to save time, two-letter identifiers were adopted for this purpose.
