Langdon is a city in Cavalier County, North Dakota, Cavalier County, North Dakota, United States. It is the county seat of Cavalier County. The population was 1,909 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. Langdon was designated as the county seat in 1884 and was incorporated in 1885. History A post office has been in operation in Langdon since 1886. The city was named for Robert Bruce Langdon, a politician and railroad official. Altona is a town in southern Manitoba, Canada, about 100 km south-west of Winnipeg and 158 km north of Grand Forks, North Dakota. The population at the 2011 Census was 4,123 residents.
