KXDD (FM)
KXDD (104.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a country music format. Licensed to Yakima, Washington, United States, the station serves the Yakima area. The station is currently owned by David Stephens of Tulsa, Oklahoma. KXDD has had the same country format for over 35 years. When they first signed on, they also played country music, as KAAR and KUTI-FM (co-owned with sister station 980 KUTI, now KTCR). But in 1977, the 104.1 frequency flipped to KUEZ, which had an Easy Listening format. Ironically, the KUEZ calls are currently on a 104.1 in Fallon, NV with a Soft Oldies format. In 1982 they adopted their current call sign, but it wasn't until around 1984 when country returned to 104.1 mHz. KUEZ (104.1 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station in Fallon, Nevada serving the Reno metropolitan area. It is owned by John Burkavage, with Big Horn Media, Inc. as the licensee. It broadcasts a soft adult contemporary radio format. KUEZ has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts. The transmitter is in Churchill County off Interstate 80 near the Fallon Rest Stop. KUEZ also has a booster station in Reno on 104.1 MHz, KUEZ-FM1 with an ERP of 17,500 watts. Easy listening (including mood music) is a popular music genre and radio format that was most popular during the 1950s to 1970s. It is related to middle-of-the-road (MOR) music and encompasses instrumental recordings of standards, hit songs, non-rock vocals and instrumental covers of selected popular rock songs. It mostly concentrates on music that pre-dates the rock and roll era, characteristically on music from the 1940s and 1950s. KTCR (980 AM "Kruzn 106.9 KTCR") is a radio station licensed to Selah, Washington. Owned by Stephens Media Group, it broadcasts an oldies format. History The station went on air as KUTI in 1955. In 1983 KUTI changed its city of license from Yakima to Selah in order to increase power and add nighttime service. On May 26, 2010, it was rumored then-KJOX's parent company New Northwest Broadcasters's stations could possibly be sold in the near future. KBBO (AM)
KBBO (1390 AM) is a radio station licensed to Yakima, Washington, United States; the station serves the Yakima area. It carries a sports talk format. The station is currently owned by Stephens Media Group. History With a power of 250 watts, the station signed on the air in 1947 as KYAK at 1400 kHz. To increase power to 1000 watts day and 500 at night, the station reduced its frequency to 1390 kHz. In 1957, adopting a rock n' roll format and under the ownership of Warren Durham and Bill Shela, the station changed its call letters from KYAK to KLOQ. In 1963, KLOQ was sold and the call letters were changed to KBBO A religious format was adopted.
