KWYY
KWYY (95.5 FM) is a radio station in Casper, Wyoming, branded as "95.5 My Country" and carrying a country music format. The station is currently owned by Townsquare Media. History KWYY started out as KYOD, "Coyote Country, the New 104.7", at 104.7 FM in the mid-1990s as a country music station. It was moved to its current location on the FM dial in the late 1990s, after being sold by Heart Media to Mountain States Broadcasting. The station was sold to Clear Channel Radio in 1999. Clear Channel sold its Casper stations to GapWest Broadcasting in 2007. GapWest was folded into Townsquare Media on August 13, 2010. KWYY was recently re-branded as "My Country 955" and is using local DJs, rather than the satellite programming it used previously. Gap Broadcasting Group was a group of companies that owned around 116 broadcast stations (including 1 low-power television station and 5 low-power stations) in 23 radio markets in northwestern and central southern United States in the late 2000s. KRNK (96.7 FM, "Rock 96.7") is a radio station in Casper, Wyoming broadcasting a mainstream rock format. The station is currently owned by Townsquare Media. History KRNK started out as KMGW "Magic 94", an adult contemporary radio station in the Summer of 1989. In the mid-1990s it became an alternative music station. Later in the decade it was re-branded as "Star 94" and converted back to its original AC format feeding programming from ABC Radio's "Hits & Favorites" network. "The Star-Spangled Banner" is the national anthem of the United States. The lyrics come from the "Defence of Fort M'Henry", a poem written on September 14, 1814, by 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet Francis Scott Key after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British ships of the Royal Navy in Outer Baltimore Harbor in the Patapsco River during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812.
