KWDZ (910 AM) was a broadcast radio station licensed to Salt Lake City, Utah, serving the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The station was owned and operated by iHeartMedia. The KWDZ broadcast license was held by Citicasters Licenses, Inc. History The station was founded in 1945 and originally held the callsign KALL. It was originally owned by Mr. and Mrs. George C. Hatch and Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Hinkley. In 1946, John F. Fitzpatrick, publisher of ''The Salt Lake Tribune'' (owned by the Kearns Corporation), representing the Tribune, purchased fifty percent interest in the station from the owners. The Tribune's interest (Kearns-Tribune, Corp.) sold its interest in 1954 to permit its owner (Kearns-Tribune, Corp.) to apply for a license to buy a television license and to purchase a fifty percent ownership in KUTV Channel 2. KNRS-FM (105.9 MHz) is a commercial radio station, licensed to Centerville, Utah, and broadcasting to Salt Lake City metropolitan area, using the branding "Talk Radio 105.9." KNRS-FM simulcasts a talk radio format with sister station KNRS 570 AM. The studios are on South Decker Lake Drive in West Valley City. The station's transmitter tower is on Farnsworth Peak, in the Oquirrh Mountains, southwest of Salt Lake City, KNRS-FM broadcasts using HD Radio technology. History Easy listening (1979-1990) On December 24, 1979, the station originally signed on as KCGL at 105.5 FM. It was powered at only 500 watts and offered easy listening music for the northern suburbs of Salt Lake City. KUTV (channel 2) is a television station in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, affiliated with CBS. It is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group alongside independent station KJZZ-TV (channel 14) and St. George–licensed MyNetworkTV affiliate KMYU (channel 12, formerly solely a satellite station of KUTV from its 1999 sign-on to 2008). The stations share studios on South Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City, while KUTV's transmitter is located on Farnsworth Peak in the Oquirrh Mountains, southwest of Salt Lake City. History Country (1967-1984) KAAZ-FM began broadcasting on 106.3 FM as KTMP, the original format mainly being country, from a transmitter on Lake Mountain, closer to its current city of license (Spanish Fork). Adult contemporary (1984-1986) In 1984, the frequency was changed to 106.5 FM, the station call sign was changed to KBHV, and the format was changed to adult contemporary.
