KVOQ (FM)
KVOQ (102.3 FM) is a public radio station licensed to Greenwood Village, Colorado, and serving the Denver metropolitan area. KVOQ broadcasts an Album Adult Alternative (AAA) radio format known as "Indie 102.3" under the ownership of Colorado Public Radio. It is listener supported and airs no commercials. On-air fundraisers are conducted several times each year. A 40-watt booster station, 102.3 KVOQ-FM3, is on the air in Boulder to help listeners there better receive the station. It is also simulcast on KNDH (96.7 FM) in Carbondale and its four dependent translators, which CPR acquired in 2021. In January 2022, Indie 102.3 began to simulcast in Colorado Springs on KEPC (89.7 FM). Station history KCUV (2005=2008) KCUV (as the station was previously known) originally began on 1510 AM, and moved to the 102.3 FM signal in 2005. KDCO (AM)
KDCO (1340 kHz) is a noncommercial AM radio station licensed to Denver, Colorado. The station is owned by El Sembrador Ministries and carries its ESNE Radio network, featuring Spanish-language Catholic radio programming. History KMYR and KDEN The station was launched by Frederick W. Meyer, a wholesale grocer, in 1940 as KMYR. (The call sign represented Meyer's name.) It originally signed on with 250 watts of power. The station's sale in 1956 brought a call letter change to KDEN. For a time in the 1970s and 80s, KDEN aired an all-news radio format. At first it used NBC Radio's "News and Information Service" (NIS). When that was discontinued, KDEN remained an NBC News network affiliate but it had its own schedule of local anchors delivering the news. KKHK (95.5 FM, "Bob FM") is a commercial radio station in Carmel, California, broadcasting to the Santa Cruz-Monterey-Salinas, California area on 95.5 FM. Owned by Stephens Media Group, through licensee SMG-Monterey, LLC, it broadcasts an Alternative format. Its studios are in Monterey while its transmitter is located east of the city. History 95.5 FM had been a classical music station branded as "K-Bach" until February 9, 2008, when the format was moved to 103.9 FM. On February 14, 2008, the call sign on 103.9 FM temporarily changed to KKHK which were then swapped with KBOQ on February 26. On December 3, 2010 KKHK changed their format from country as Hank FM, to adult hits branded as "Bob FM". On July 1, 2019, Mapleton Communications announced its intent to sell its remaining 37 stations to Stephens Media Group. Stephens began operating the station that same day.
