The station airs a contemporary hit radio format and is owned by Jodesha Broadcasting, Inc. Most programming on KJET is from Westwood One's service, with some local segments. KJET uses a booster station on the same frequency (105.7) to widen its broadcast area to Grays Harbor County and can also be heard on two FM translator stations. History In July 1999, the station first signed on the air. Its city of license was originally South Bend, Washington, and it aired a talk radio format. The original power was 3,200 watts. The company takes its name from an earlier network also named Westwood One, a company founded in 1978. The company was, at various times, managed by CBS Radio, the radio arm of CBS Corporation and Viacom. Ocean Shores, Washington
Ocean Shores is a city in Grays Harbor County, Washington, United States. The population was 6,715 at the 2020 census. History The City of Ocean Shores occupies the Point Brown peninsula on the Washington coast. Long before the arrival of European explorers and settlers, the peninsula was used by the various local tribes for trading and other purposes. The Chinook, Chehalis, and Quinault tribes used the area, as well as others that now make up the Quinault Indian Nation. On May 7, 1792, Captain Robert Gray sailed into the bay and named the area Bullfinch Harbor. Later, Captain George Vancouver renamed the area Grays Harbor after Captain Gray. The first established white settler on the Point was Matthew McGee, who settled in the early 1860s. He sold the southern portion of the peninsula to A.O. Aberdeen () is a city in Grays Harbor County, Washington, United States. The population was 17,013 at the 2020 census. The city is the economic center of Grays Harbor County, bordering the cities of Hoquiam and Cosmopolis. Aberdeen is occasionally referred to as the "Gateway to the Olympic Peninsula". History Aberdeen was named after a local salmon cannery to reflect its Scottish fishing port namesake Aberdeen, and, like Scotland, Aberdeen is situated at the mouth of two rivers - the Chehalis and the Wishkah.
