KRQE
KRQE (channel 13) is a television station in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States, affiliated with CBS and Fox. Owned by Nexstar Media Group, it is sister to Santa Fe–licensed ''de facto'' CW owned-and-operated station KWBQ (channel 19) and MyNetworkTV affiliate KASY-TV (channel 50) (both owned by Mission Broadcasting with certain services provided by Nexstar through a shared services agreement SA. The stations share studios on Broadcast Plaza in Albuquerque, while KRQE's transmitter is located on Sandia Crest, east of Albuquerque. KREX-TV, virtual channel 5 ( VHF digital channel 2), is a CBS- affiliated television station licensed to Grand Junction, Colorado, United States and serving Colorado's Western Slope region. Media General was an American media company based in Richmond, Virginia. ''The Durango Herald'' is a newspaper in Durango, Colorado. The first edition of the ''Herald'' came out June 30, 1881. Two years later, the ''Herald'' merged with the ''Record'', which had started publishing in 1880, seven months before the ''Herald''. The modern ''Herald'' traces its roots to both papers but the current ''Herald'' nameplate cites 1881 as the paper's founding year. The paper was combined in 1952 after Arthur and Morley Cowles Ballantine purchased the ''Herald-Democrat'' and the ''News''. In 1960, the name was changed to ''The Durango Herald''. Arthur was co-editor and co-publisher of the paper from 1952 until 1975. Morley was also co-editor and co-publisher and took over as chairman and editor after Arthur's death. An independent station is a type of television station broadcasting in the United States or Canada that is not affiliated with any broadcast television network; most commonly, these stations carry a mix of syndicated, brokered and in some cases, local programming to fill time periods when network programs typically would air.
