Owned by Inyo Broadcast Holdings, the station maintains offices on Oak Street and Cleaver Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri, and its transmitter is located in the city's Brown Estates section. KPXE-TV also serves as the ''de facto'' Ion outlet for the St. Joseph market, as that area does not have an Ion station of its own. History Prior channel 50 Channel 50 in Kansas City first signed on the air on October 29, 1969 as KCIT-TV. Grit is an American free-to-air television network owned by the Katz Broadcasting subsidiary of the E. W. Scripps Company. The network features classic westerns - both TV series and films - targeted at men between the ages of 25 and 54 years old.
