KPIT (FM)
KPIT (91.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to Pittsburg, Texas, United States, which serves Mount Pleasant and Titus County. The station is currently owned by Holdsworth Educational Media, Inc. History KPIT was first proposed by the Millennium Broadcasting Corporation in November 2007, and receiving a permit to construct the Class A facility on December 31, 2007. The facility was originally proposed to operate at 500 watts, 39.81 meters elevation, from a transmission site just south of Lake Bob Sandlin, but decreased ERP to the current 450 watts in a subsequent application prior to sign on. KPIT has used the same transmission site near the lake since inception, which allows the signal to serve both its COL of Pittsburg, as well as the larger town of Mount Pleasant. Pittsburg, Texas
Pittsburg is a city and the county seat of Camp County, Texas, United States. Best known as the former home of the giant poultry producer Pilgrim's and the home of racing legend Carroll Shelby, Pittsburg is also the birthplace of Cavender's Boot City. In 1902, it was the site of an early flight attempt by the Ezekiel Air Ship Mfg Co. With a 2020 census-tabulated population of 4,335, it is the most populous city in Camp County. Mount Pleasant is the county seat of and largest city in Titus County, in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, Mount Pleasant's population was 16,047; it is situated in Northeast Texas. FM broadcasting is a method of radio broadcasting using frequency modulation (FM). KETE (99.7 FM; "Three Angels Broadcasting Network") is a terrestrial radio station, licensed to Sulphur Bluff, Texas, United States, and owned by Brazos TV, Inc. KETE broadcasts a Christian preaching format, featuring programming from the Three Angels Broadcasting Network. History KETE received an initial License to Cover from the Federal Communications Commission on September 14, 2009. It was originally owned by La Ke Manda Broadcasting, and was sold to the current owner North Texas Radio Group, L.P. on January 11, 2012.
