KMLM-FM
KMLM-FM (107.3 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Grover Beach, California and broadcasting to the San Luis Obispo, California area. The station is owned by Gold Coast Radio LLC and airs a regional Mexican format. History Early years (1984–2000) The station first signed on July 4, 1984 on the 107.1 MHz frequency as KLOI. In 1987, the station changed its call sign to KOSZ and moved to 107.3 MHz. In November 1988, R&L Broadcasters sold KOSZ to P-B Broadcasting for $1.225 million. At the time of the sale, the station aired an adult contemporary music format. The new owner changed the call letters to KWCD the following year. KWCD went silent in November 1991. In April 1992, Westcom Communications, headed by Kathleen Phalen who originally purchased the station in 1988, sold KWCD back to R&L Broadcasters for $378,000. KMLA (103.7 FM, "La M 103.7") is a commercial radio station that is licensed to El Rio, California, United States and serves the Oxnard-Ventura, California area. The station broadcasts a regional Mexican music format. KMLA is owned by Gold Coast Radio, LLC. History KMLA first signed on in October 1996. Owner Clayton Corp. sold the station to Gold Coast Radio LLC for $600,000 the following month; the transaction was consummated December 6. On October 30, 2008, KMLA owner Gold Coast Radio faced rival radio company Lazer Broadcasting in Ventura County Superior Court, suing for unspecified damages. Gold Coast accused the defendant of interfering with its advertisers and customers to harm its business, beginning with the near-cancellation of a 2007 concert hosted by KMLA. Still Time (band)
Still Time is an American rock band from San Luis Obispo, California. History Still Time formed over a number of years while at the California Polytechnic State University. Dan Curcio and Chris “Haircut” Arntzen began their musical collaboration after meeting in the Sierra Madre dorms in the Fall of 2002. In 2003, Nick Bilich was introduced to Curcio through his girlfriend and Haircut discovered John Vucinich drumming on his knee in the hallway of the math building. The band was completed a year later in 2004 when Vucinich met bassist Paul “Slapmaster” Smith-Stewart playing in the university jazz band. With Smith-Stewart playing the bass, Bilich switched from bass to guitar. They began playing a number of shows around the San Luis Obispo under the name Longview. Grover Beach is a city in San Luis Obispo County, California, United States. The population was 13,156 at the 2010 census, up from 13,067 in 2000. Grover Beach is the location of the Pacific Crossing cable Landing station. This is where trans-pacific submarine cables come ashore and interface with the North American telecom network. History Grover Beach was originally known as ''Town of Grover'', which was founded on August 1, 1887. The town was named for its founder, D.W. Grover. Grover filed his plans at the San Luis Obispo County Court House and eventually founded what was to be known as ''City of Grover City''. There was a popular vote that allowed incorporating on December 21, 1959, as ''City of Grover City''. Jell-O is an American brand offering a variety of powdered gelatin dessert (fruit-flavored gels/jellies), pudding, and no-bake cream pie mixes. The original gelatin dessert (genericized as jello) is the signature of the brand. "Jell-O" is a registered trademark of Kraft Heinz, and is based in Chicago, Illinois. Siko is the second largest populated village in eastern Odisha, India. It has a mixed, rich culture mainly consisting of Hindus and Muslims, with Hindus making up a majority. ''Loveline'' is a syndicated radio call-in program in North America, offering medical and relationship advice to listeners, often with the assistance of guests, typically actors and musicians. Its host through most of its run was Dr. Drew Pinsky, who was paired with a radio personality. Modern rock is an umbrella term used to describe rock music that is found on college rock radio stations.
