Lake Crystal, Minnesota
Lake Crystal is a city in Blue Earth County, Minnesota, United States, established in 1869. The population was 2,539 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Mankato- North Mankato Metropolitan Statistical Area. History First arrivals In 1853, two families from small towns near Ithaca, New York, left their homes and traveled west. One was 32-year-old William Riley Robinson. In June 1854 Robinson and his companion Lucius O. Hunt traveled from Wisconsin to Blue Earth County. Robinson and Hunt arrived and came upon the three nearby lakes, Loon, Crystal, and Lily, and marveled at their beauty. They returned for their families and headed back to settle in the Lake Crystal area. The families were joined by two other men and their families, Calvin Webb and Samuel Thorne. KEEZ-FM (99.1 MHz, "Mix 99.1") is an American radio station licensed to serve the community of Mankato, Minnesota and serving the Minnesota River Valley. The station broadcasts a hot adult contemporary format. The station is owned by Alpha Media, through licensee Digity 3E License, LLC, along with sister stations KYSM-FM, KRBI-FM and KMKO-FM. History The station was granted license on May 15, 1968, as KEYC-FM. The station was started by Lee Enterprises, which also owned KEYC-TV. The station was sold in 1977 to Faribault County Broadcasting Co. for $200,000, principally owned by Paul C. Hedberg and his wife. Burke B. Bartell was General manager until 1980's. ''The Jim Rome Show'' is a sports radio talk show hosted by Jim Rome. It airs live for three hours each weekday from 9 a.m. to noon Pacific Time. The show is produced in Los Angeles, syndicated by CBS Sports Radio, and can be heard on affiliate radio stations in the U.S. and Canada. In January 2018, the show began simulcasting on television on CBS Sports Network. History ''The Jim Rome Show'' began on XTRA Sports 690 in San Diego. Seether
Seether are a South African rock band founded in 1999 in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. The band originally performed under the name Saron Gas until 2002, when they moved to the United States and changed it to Seether to avoid confusion with the deadly chemical known as sarin gas. Lead vocalist and guitarist Shaun Morgan is the band's longest serving member, bassist Dale Stewart joined shortly after formation while drummer John Humphrey joined them for the band's second album. Since 2018, the band has been employing second guitarist Corey Lowery. Several notable guitarists like Corey's brother Clint and Troy McLawhorn have toured or recorded with the band, however, Shaun has recorded most guitar parts for the band's records. The single quickly rose to number one on both the ''Billboard'' Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts. In broadcasting and radio communications, a call sign (also known as a call name or call letters—and historically as a call signal—or abbreviated as a call) is a unique identifier for a transmitter station. A call sign can be formally assigned by a government agency, informally adopted by individuals or organizations, or even cryptographically encoded to disguise a station's identity. The use of call signs as unique identifiers dates to the landline railroad telegraph system. Because there was only one telegraph line linking all railroad stations, there needed to be a way to address each one when sending a telegram. In order to save time, two-letter identifiers were adopted for this purpose. This pattern continued in radiotelegraph operation; radio companies initially assigned two-letter identifiers to coastal stations and stations onboard ships at sea. KIBZ (104.1 FM, "104.1 The Blaze") is a Lincoln, Nebraska active rock music radio station. Studios are located on Cornhusker Highway in Northeast Lincoln, while its transmitter is located near Cortland. History 104.1 FM signed on in 1976 as KTAP, a local station targeting the Crete area, and originally on 103.9 FM. In 1986 the call letters changed to KBVB. In January 1989, after the station was sold to new owners, KBVB moved to 104.1 FM, relaunched as KKNB, "B104", and began airing a Top 40 (CHR) format, competing with KFRX.
