KLSY (93.7 FM) is an American radio station licensed to serve the community of Montesano, Washington, United States. The station, established in 2008, is currently owned by Centro Familiar Cristiano. History This station received its original construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission on March 25, 2005. The new station was assigned the KANY call sign by the FCC on October 13, 2005. While still under construction, College Creek Media, LLC, reached an agreement in December 2006 to sell this station to Jodesha Broadcasting, Inc. The deal was approved by the FCC on January 23, 2007, and the transaction was consummated on March 16, 2007. KANY received its license to cover from the FCC on March 27, 2008. KANY (107.3 FM, "Y107.3") is a radio station broadcasting a Top 40 (CHR) format. Licensed to Cosmopolis, Washington, United States, the station is currently owned by Jodesha Broadcasting. On May 7, 2014, the then-KLSY changed their format from classic rock to country, branded as "Bigfoot 107.3". Montesano is a city in Grays Harbor County, Washington, Grays Harbor County, Washington (state), Washington, United States. The population was 4,138 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. In broadcasting and radio communications, a call sign (also known as a call name or call letters—and historically as a call signal—or abbreviated as a call) is a unique identifier for a transmitter station. A call sign can be formally assigned by a government agency, informally adopted by individuals or organizations, or even cryptographically encoded to disguise a station's identity. The use of call signs as unique identifiers dates to the landline railroad telegraph system. Because there was only one telegraph line linking all railroad stations, there needed to be a way to address each one when sending a telegram. In order to save time, two-letter identifiers were adopted for this purpose. Everett is the county seat and largest city of Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is north of Seattle and is one of the main cities in the metropolitan area and the Puget Sound region. FM broadcasting is a method of radio broadcasting using frequency modulation (FM).
