KLOK (AM)
KLOK (1170 kHz "Radio Mirchi 1170 AM") is a commercial AM radio station broadcasting a radio format of Hindi language talk and Bollywood music. Licensed to San Jose, California, the station serves the San Francisco Bay Area. Since June 2009, KLOK 1170 AM has served the South Asian community. By day, KLOK is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for American AM stations. At night, it reduces power to 9,000 watts. It uses a directional antenna in the daytime, helping it cover most of the Bay Area. History E. L. Barker founded KLOK and began broadcasting on October 13, 1946. Greenfield (formerly Clarke Colony) is a city in Monterey County, California, United States. It lies in the Salinas Valley, southeast of Salinas, at an elevation of . KYNO (940 AM) is a radio station licensed to Fresno, California and is owned by John Ostlund and Katrina Ostlund. KYNO airs an oldies format, switching to Christmas music for much of December. KYNO's radio studios and offices are on Fulton Street in Fresno and its transmitter is off Avenue 384 in Monson, California. KYNO operates with 50,000 watts around the clock, the highest power permitted for American AM radio stations. 940 KYNO is the most powerful Oldies radio station in America with daytime coverage from Sacramento to Bakersfield and throughout the Central Coast of California.
