KLAF-LD
KLAF-LD (channel 14) is a low-power television station in Lafayette, Louisiana, United States, affiliated with NBC. It is owned by Allen Media Broadcasting alongside Fox affiliate KADN-TV (channel 15). Both stations share studios on Eraste Landry Road in Lafayette, while KLAF-LD's transmitter is located near Scott, Louisiana. Even though KLAF-LD airs a digital signal of its own, it only covers the immediate Lafayette area. Therefore, in order to expand its broadcasting radius, KLAF-LD is simulcast in high definition on KADN-TV's second digital subchannel (15.2, hence the NBC 15.2 branding) from a transmitter south of Church Point. KLFY-TV (channel 10) is a television station in Lafayette, Louisiana, United States, affiliated with CBS and owned by Nexstar Media Group. The station's studios are located on Eraste Landry Road in Lafayette, and its transmitter is located in Maxie, north of Rayne. KLFY-TV is notable as the oldest television station in the Lafayette area. The station is also carried on cable and satellite providers in the Lake Charles metro area and Southwest Louisiana, where it previously served as the market's default CBS affiliate until February 15, 2017, when KSWL-LD signed on as the first CBS affiliate in the area since the sign-off of KTAG-TV in 1961, as well as over-the-air in most of the Baton Rouge and Alexandria viewing areas. Scott is the fourth largest municipality in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population 8,614 as of the 2010 U.S. census, and 8,119 at the 2020 census, up from 7,870 at the 2000 census. Church Point (french: Pointe-à-l'Église) is a town in Acadia Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 4,560 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Crowley Micropolitan Statistical Area. The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are the athletic teams of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The college has been competing athletically since 1901. The Ragin' Cajuns compete in NCAA Division I, fielding 16 varsity teams. Nickname The university states that "Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns" is the nickname of the school's athletic teams.
