KK Zlatibor
Košarkaški klub Zlatibor ( sr-cyrl, Кошаркашки клуб Златибор, en, Zlatibor Basketball Club), commonly referred to as KK Zlatibor or Zlatibor Gold Gondola due to sponsorship reasons, is a men's professional basketball club based in Čajetina, Serbia. They are currently competing in the Basketball League of Serbia and the ABA League Second Division History Basketball beginnings in Čajetina came with the success of amateur sports competition in western Serbia known as the MOSI. Pioneers of basketball in Čajetina, Sead Begović, and Radomir Raković among the others founded KK Zlatibor on 19 September 1979. The first club president was Aleksandar Vasiljević. Most of its history, Zlatibor played in 3rd-tier league West Division with several attempts of attacking 1st place which leads to the higher league. The Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Кошаркашка лига Србије, Košarkaška liga Srbije; abbr. КЛС or KLS), is a top-tier men's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia, consists of two stages: the First League which has 16 teams and the SuperLeague which has 8 teams. Since the 2017–18 season, the top 8 teams in First League are promoted to Super League with five Serbian teams from the ABA League. Two lowest-placed teams, positioned 15th and 16th in the First League, are relegated to a lower-tier league – Second Basketball League of Serbia. The Basketball Champions League (BCL) is an annual professional basketball competition for European clubs, organised by FIBA. It is the top-level competition organised by FIBA Europe, therefore the champion participates in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Nikola Vasić (Serbian Cyrillic: Никола Васић, born September 15, 1984) is a Serbian retired professional basketball player. Career Being a product of FMP's youth system, Nikola has passed through all of the club's ranks, as a top player. Robert Songolo Ngijol (born April 20, 1994) is a Cameroonian professional basketball player. College career Songolo Ngijol played college basketball for the UIC Flames (2012–2013) and the Minnesota State–Moorhead Dragons (2013–2016). Vanja Guša ( sr-cyr, Вања Гуша; born 28 July 1966) is a Serbian basketball coach. Early life Guša was born in Zadar, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia to Serb parents. He started to play basketball in the youth system of his hometown team Zadar. However, his family later fled to Belgrade, at the start of the Yugoslav wars.
