Košarkaški klub Rtanj ( sr-cyrl, Кошаркашки клуб Ртањ), commonly referred to as KK Rtanj, is a men's basketball club based in Boljevac, Serbia. They are currently competing in the First Regional League of Serbia (3rd-tier). The club was founded in 1980 and was named after Rtanj, a mountain situated in eastern Serbia. First Regional Basketball League (Serbia)
First Men's Regional League ( sr-cyrl, Прва мушка регионална лига, Prva muška regionalna liga), previously First Serbian League, is the men's regional basketball league in Serbia. It is the 3rd-tier of the basketball league system in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia and regional basketball associations, consists of four divisions, North, Central, East and West, which have 14 teams each. The first team in every division will be promoted to the Second Basketball League of Serbia. The teams positioned 13th and 14th in the First Regional League will be relegated to a lower-tier league - the Second Regional League. Boljevac
Boljevac ( sr-cyr, Бољевац, ; ro, Bulioț) is a town and municipality located in the Zaječar District of eastern Serbia. According to 2011 census, the population of the town is 3,332, while population of the municipality is 12,865. History From 1929 to 1941, Boljevac was part of the Morava Banovina of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. In 2010, the Commission on Concealed Mass Graves in Serbia discovered a mass grave of people killed by Yugoslav Partisans during World War II in the settlement of Zmijanac. Rtanj
Rtanj ( sr, Ртањ, Romanian: Artan, ) is a mountain situated in eastern Serbia, approximately 200 km southeast of Belgrade, between the towns of Boljevac on north and Sokobanja on the south. It belongs to the Serbian Carpathians. Its highest peak is Šiljak () (1,565 m), a natural phenomenon of karst terrain. The north side of the mountain is covered with forests and shrubs, full of autochthonous plant species and plenty of sources of potable water. A hunting ground covers 6368 ha. The most common prey are roe deer and wild boar. Geography Rtanj is located in eastern Serbia, occupying the south-western, Balkan section of the Carpathian Mountains. Administratively, it belongs to the municipalities of Sokobanja and Boljevac. The most obvious physical feature is the conical shape on top of the mountain ridge, which appears to be perfect. The Serbian basketball league system, or Serbian basketball league pyramid is a series of interconnected competitions for professional basketball clubs in Serbia. The system has a hierarchical format with a promotion and demotion system between competitions at different levels. Boban Marjanović ( sr-Cyrl, Бобан Марјановић; born August 15, 1988) is a Serbs, Serbian professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also plays for the Serbia national basketball team, Serbian national basketball team in international competitions.
