Košarkaški klub Pirot ( sr-cyrl, Кошаркашки клуб Пирот), commonly referred to as KK Pirot, is a men's professional basketball club based in Pirot, Serbia. They are currently competing in the Second League of Serbia. History In the 2019–20 season, Pirot placed third in the Second League of Serbia and got promoted to the Basketball League of Serbia for the 2020–21 season. Second Basketball League Of Serbia
Second Men's League of Serbia ( sr-cyr, Друга мушка лига Србије, Druga muška liga Srbije), previously Basketball League of Serbia B, is the second-tier level men's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia, has 14 teams. From the 2012–13 season, the top two teams in Second League goes to First League of Serbia. The teams positioned 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th in Second will be relegated to the 3td tier – First Men's Regional League. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. Venkatesha "Venky" Jois (born 7 July 1993) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Helios Suns of the Slovenian League. He played four years of college basketball for Eastern Washington before playing professionally in Estonia, Croatia, Japan, Serbia and Germany. Early life Jois was born in the Melbourne suburb of Upper Ferntree Gully to an Indian father and an Australian mother. He attended Box Hill High School, where he participated in basketball, swimming, soccer, Australian rules football, cross country and athletics. He graduated in 2011. Nemanja Nenadić ( sr-cyr, Немања Ненадић; born 2 January 1994) is a Serbian professional basketball player for Río Breogán of the Liga ACB. Zoran Lazarević ( sr-cyr, Зоран Лазаревић; born 23 October 1947) is a Serbian former professional basketball player. Playing career Lazarević was a member of Pirot until 1968 where he played with Svetislav Pešić. Lazarević played for a Belgrade-based team Crvena zvezda of the Yugoslav First League from 1968 to 1975. His teammates were Zoran Slavnić, Dragan Kapičić, Ljubodrag Simonović, Dragiša Vučinić, and Goran Rakočević among others. Svetislav Pešić
Svetislav "Kari" Pešić ( sr-cyrl, Светислав "Кари" Пешић; born August 28, 1949) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach of the Serbia men's national team. Playing career During his club playing career, Pešić played with Pirot (1964–1967), Partizan (1967–1971), and Bosna (1971–1979).
