KK Kakanj
Košarkaški klub Kakanj (), commonly referred to as KK Kakanj, is a men's professional basketball club based in Kakanj, Zenica-Doboj Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina. They are currently competing in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Championship. History The club won the 2nd-tier A1 League in the 2011–12 season and got promoted to Bosnia and Herzegovina Championship for the 2012–13 season. Home arena Kakanj plays its home games at the KSC Kakanj Sports Hall. The hall is located in Kakanj, Zenica-Doboj Canton, and was built in 1985. It has a seating capacity of 1,300 seats. Basketball Championship Of Bosnia And Herzegovina
The Basketball Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the top–tier men's professional basketball league in Bosnia and Herzegovina for men and women, respectively. The league is operated by the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Competition format The league is composed of 12 teams, each playing against the other eleven two times, home and away. After this portion concludes, the top six clubs are joined by the country's representatives in the Adriatic League, and enter "League 6". The best of these four teams go to the playoffs, and in the final best-of-five series, the Bosnian champion is crowned. The eight teams who do not make the playoffs go on to compete in the "relegation league," where a team's object becomes maintaining its standing and ability to play in the competition the following year. Kakanj ( sr-cyrl, Какањ) is a town and municipality located in Zenica-Doboj Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013, the town has a population of 11,796 inhabitants, with 38,937 inhabitants in the municipality. It is situated in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, north of Visoko and southeast of Zenica. It was built along the slopes of wide hills on either side of the Zgošća river. History Neolithic artifacts have been found in Obre, a nearby village.
