KK Branik Maribor
Akademski košarkarski klub Branik Maribor ( en, Academic Basketball Club Branik Maribor), commonly referred to as AKK Branik Maribor or simply Branik, is a basketball team based in Maribor, Slovenia. As of the 2022–23 season, Branik competes in the Slovenian Third League, the third-tier league of Slovenian basketball. The club was originally formed in 1948 as a basketball section of SŠD Polet. Branik folded in 2005 because of financial difficulties. A new club called ŠD Primorac was founded in 2001 and joined the Branik Sports Association in 2008. Maribor
Maribor ( , , , ; also known by other #Name, historical names) is the second-largest city in Slovenia and the largest city of the traditional region of Styria (Slovenia), Lower Styria. It is also the seat of the City Municipality of Maribor, the seat of the Drava Statistical Region, Drava statistical region and the Eastern Slovenia region. Basketball Federation Of Slovenia
The Basketball Federation of Slovenia ( sl, Košarkarska zveza Slovenije) also known as KZS is the governing body of basketball in Slovenia. It was founded in 1950 as a member of the larger Yugoslav Basketball Federation (see also: Basketball in Yugoslavia). In 1992, KZS joined the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) on its own. The Basketball Federation of Slovenia operates the Slovenia men's national team and Slovenia women's national team. They organize national competitions in Slovenia, for both the men's and women's senior teams and also the youth national basketball teams.
