KOOI
KOOI (106.5 FM) is an Alpha Media radio station broadcasting a variety hits format. Licensed to Jacksonville, Texas, United States, the station serves the Tyler-Longview area, and is the East Texas broadcast radio home of the Dallas Cowboys. Studios are located on Broadway Avenue in downtown Tyler, while the transmitter is located north of Jacksonville, in the town of Mt. Selman. History Licensed in 1968 by Dudley Waller, as KEBE-FM, 106.5 was a simulcast of AM 1400 (known as the KEBE Corral). From the beginning, 106.5 was an affiliate of the ABC radio network. In broadcasting and radio communications, a call sign (also known as a call name or call letters—and historically as a call signal—or abbreviated as a call) is a unique identifier for a transmitter station. A call sign can be formally assigned by a government agency, informally adopted by individuals or organizations, or even cryptographically encoded to disguise a station's identity. The use of call signs as unique identifiers dates to the landline railroad telegraph system. Because there was only one telegraph line linking all railroad stations, there needed to be a way to address each one when sending a telegram. Hideaway, Texas
Hideaway is a largely residential city and gated community in Smith County, Texas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 3,201. Hideaway is part of the Tyler Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The land that now encompasses Hideaway was originally included in the large plantation owned by Texas governor Richard B. Hubbard. Later, the land was purchased by developer James Fair. In 1967, Fair planned and developed the land, naming it "Hide-A-Way Lake." The community was slated to contain with a total 1,944 residential lots. In 2000, the community, then managed by Hideaway Homeowners, Inc. (which is the HOA) and Hideaway Lake Club, Inc.
