KHTV-CD, virtual channel 6 ( UHF digital channel 22), is a low-power, Class A MeTV+ owned-and-operated television station licensed to Los Angeles, California, United States. The station is owned by Chicago-based Weigel Broadcasting. KHTV-CD's transmitter is located at the Mount Harvard Radio Site in the San Gabriel Mountains. Due to its low-power status, KHTV-CD's broadcasting radius does not reach all of Greater Los Angeles. Therefore, it must rely on cable and satellite carriage to reach the entire market. History The station was founded on October 22, 1993. It signed on as K38EA on channel 38, before moving to channel 48 as KHTV-LP, starting in 2000 as an affiliate of now defunct Home Shopping en Español, later rebranding to HSE (a Spanish-language channel operated by parent channel Home Shopping Network) until HSE ceased operations in June 2002. Weigel Broadcasting Co. is an American television broadcasting company based in Chicago, Illinois, alongside its flagship station WCIU-TV (Channel 26), at 26 North Halsted Street in the Greektown neighborhood. It currently owns 25 television stations, seven digital over-the-air television networks (most notably MeTV), and one radio station. KSFV-CD, virtual and UHF digital channel 27, is a low-powered, Class A Jewelry Television- affiliated television station licensed to Los Angeles, California, United States. The station is owned by Chicago-based Weigel Broadcasting, and transmits from the Mount Harvard Radio Site in the San Gabriel Mountains. History The low-power station was founded in 1989 as translator K24CM on channel 24, before changing from a translator to an LPTV as KSFV-LP in 1995, moving to channel 26 in 2001. On April 30 of that year, the station debuted Spanish-language programming targeted towards Central American immigrants. Sometime after that, the station moved to channel 6 to make room for KVCR-DT in San Bernardino, which had signed on its digital signal on channel 26. KPOM-CD (channel 14) is a low-power, Class A television station in Ontario, California, United States, broadcasting the digital multicast network Decades. Owned and operated by Weigel Broadcasting, the station broadcasts from a transmitter, shared with KSFV-CD, at the Mount Harvard Radio Site in the San Gabriel Mountains. Due to its low-power status, KPOM-CD's broadcasting radius does not reach all of Greater Los Angeles. Therefore, the station shares Decades with the fourth subchannel of KTTV (channel 11). San Gabriel Mountains
The San Gabriel Mountains ( es, Sierra de San Gabriel) are a mountain range located in northern Los Angeles County, California, Los Angeles County and western San Bernardino County, California, United States.
