KHLM-LD, virtual channel 12 (VHF digital channel 10), is a low-powered CTN owned-and-operated television station licensed to Houston, Texas, United States. The station is owned by the Clearwater, Florida-based Christian Television Network. KHLM-LD's transmitter is located near Missouri City, in unincorporated northeastern Fort Bend County. History In its early years, this station did not broadcast a TV service at all. Instead, it was used to run an Internet Service Provider called AccelerNet, which delivered the downstream part of the service using UHF channel 43 and the upstream using a traditional dial-up modem or ISDN line. Prior to 2020, KHLM-LD was the American flagship of the Monterrey, Nuevo León-based network Multimedios, and coordinated many of that network's talent appearances around the Houston area and southern Texas. KUVM-LD
KUVM-LD, virtual and VHF digital channel 10, is a low-powered television station serving Houston, Texas, United States that is licensed to Missouri City. The station is owned by HC2 Holdings. History The station began in 2007 on channel 10 with the call sign K10PY-D. The station converted to digital transmission in October 2009, initially running a simulcast of KHLM until that station obtained a digital signal of its own, and later replacing it with the Azteca América programming of former analog station KUVM-CA, and changing its call sign to KUVM-LD on October 9, 2009. The station's signal moved to channel 40 from the Missouri City tower farm on July 24, 2010. On April 25, 2010, Azteca América programming began airing on KNWS, which Una Vez Más Holdings had contracted to buy. KUVM-LD dropped Azteca América from its 4th subchannel on January 25, 2011. Canal 6 (alternately known as Multimedios Televisión) is a network of Spanish language television stations primarily concentrated in northeastern Mexico and the southwestern United States. The system is part of Grupo Multimedios. The flagship station of Multimedios is XHAW-TDT located in Monterrey, Nuevo León. Programming features locally produced news, sports, children's shows and general mass appeal variety programming. On weekdays, the network produces around twenty hours of live daily programming, with lesser amounts during the weekends and holidays. Christian Television Network (CTN) is a non-profit broadcast television network of small owned-and-operated stations (O&O) that broadcasts religious programming. It is based in Largo, Florida (with a mailing address of Clearwater), and the flagship station is WCLF channel 22, which signed on the air in the Tampa Bay region in 1979. It is now available on DirecTV channel 376, Dish Network channel 262, and Glorystar channel 117. It was founded by Robert D'Andrea, who died in January 2022. Ultra high frequency (UHF) is the ITU designation for radio frequency, radio frequencies in the range between 300 megahertz (MHz) and 3 gigahertz (GHz), also known as the decimetre band as the wavelengths range from one meter to one tenth of a meter (one decimeter). Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is a set of communication standards for simultaneous digital transmission of voice, video, data, and other network services over the digitalised circuits of the public switched telephone network. In broadcasting, a flagship (also known as a flagship station or key station) is the broadcast station which originates a television network, or a particular radio or television program that plays a key role in the branding of and consumer loyalty to a network or station. Very high frequency (VHF) is the ITU designation for the range of radio frequency electromagnetic waves ( radio waves) from 30 to 300 megahertz (MHz), with corresponding wavelengths of ten meters to one meter.
