KGRA (98.9 FM) is a commercial radio station that serves the Jefferson, Iowa area. Formerly broadcasting a Classic Hits format, the station now broadcasts Real Country. KDLS (1310 AM) is a commercial radio station serving the Perry, Iowa area. Until February 2010, the station broadcast Timeless Favorites. After the shutdown of Timeless Favorites at that same month, the station has broadcast primarily a Kool Gold format. Although both stations share the same call letters, KDLS AM does not have the same ownership as KDLS-FM. Until January 31, 2012, KDLS was licensed to Coon Valley Communications, Inc. Jefferson is a city in, and the county seat of Greene County, Iowa, United States, along the Raccoon River, North Raccoon River. Scranton is a city in Greene County, Iowa, United States. The population was 511 at the time of the 2020 census. It was named after Scranton, Pennsylvania. History Scranton was platted in 1869, shortly after the Cedar Rapids & Missouri River Railroad was built through that territory. It was named for Joseph H. Scranton of Scranton, Pennsylvania, who supplied most of the iron rails in the construction of the railroad. Scranton was incorporated in 1880. Scranton's water tower, built in 1897, is the oldest working water tower in Iowa and ninth oldest in the United States.
