KFJC (89.7 FM) is a student-run college and community radio station licensed to Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California. The station, which has a Variety format, broadcasts a broad spectrum of musical genres as well as public affairs programming. KFJC serves the southern San Francisco Bay Area. KFJC's mission is to be a conduit for new and interesting audio art and information. KFJC's music programming is largely oriented to recent material from many genres. Most programs must play at least 35% (by song count) tracks from material added in the last 8 weeks. The station is licensed to the trustees of the Foothill-De Anza Community College District and operated as a teaching laboratory for the Fine Arts and Communications Department of Foothill College. "Louie Louie" is a rhythm and blues song written and composed by American musician Richard Berry in 1955, recorded in 1956, and released in 1957. It is best known for the 1963 hit version by the Kingsmen and has become a Standard (music), standard in pop music, pop and rock music, rock. Foothill College is a public community college in Los Altos Hills, California. It is part of the Foothill–De Anza Community College District. It was founded on January 15, 1957, and offers 84 Associate degree programs, 2 Bachelor's degree programs, and 124 certificate programs. KOME
KOME was a commercial FM radio station in San Jose, California, broadcasting at 98.5 MHz. KOME was on the air from 1971 through 1998. Currently, the 98.5 FM frequency is home to KUFX "K-Fox", a classic rock station. An unrelated FM station in Tolar, Texas, airing a classic hits radio format in the western section of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, currently uses the KOME call sign. It broadcasts on 95.5 MHz, and is owned by Chisholm Trail Communications. History KRPM On July 1, 1959, the station first signed on the air. It was owned by Edward W. The Knack
The Knack was an American power pop band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1978 by Doug Fieger (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Berton Averre (lead guitar, backing vocals), Prescott Niles (bass) and Bruce Gary (drums). Spearheaded by the success of their debut single "My Sharona", their first album, ''Get the Knack'' (1979), reached number-one in several countries. However, their next two albums, ''...But The Little Girls Understand'' (1980) and ''Round Trip (The Knack album), Round Trip'' (1981), were less successful, leading the band to disband in 1982. Ramones
The Ramones were an American punk rock band formed in the New York City neighborhood Forest Hills, Queens in 1974. Known for helping establish the punk movement in the United States and elsewhere, the Ramones are often recognized as one of the first bands of the genre. In music, a single is a type of release of a song recording of fewer tracks than an album ( LP), typically one or two tracks. A single can be released for sale to the public in a variety of physical or digital formats. Singles may be standalone tracks or connected to an artist's album, and in the latter case would often have at least one single release before the album itself, called lead singles. The single was defined in the mid-20th century with the ''45'' (named after its speed in revolutions per minute), a type of 7-inch sized vinyl record containing an A-side and a B-side, i.e. one song on each side.
