KVAM (FM)
KRKY-FM is a noncommercial radio station on 88.7 FM in Douglas, Wyoming. The station is owned by Vic Michael's Cedar Cove Broadcasting and is known as K-Rocky with a variety format. KRKY-FM is frequently heard on noncommercial and other stations owned by Michael and also has five dependent translators, also owned by Michael. History In 2008, the Federal Communications Commission granted Wren Communications a construction permit for a station on 88.7 MHz in Douglas. KKWY went on the air in 2011 and then went silent in October, citing the unreliability of its Internet programming feed. After emerging in June 2012, the main transmitter failed that August, leaving the station dark again for 11 months. In July 2013, the station returned to the air as KKAW. In January 2014, KKAW asked to go silent yet again for another main transmitter failure. While silent, the station reverted to the KKWY call letters in February. KAIX
KAIX (88.3 FM) is a non-commercial radio station licensed to serve Casper, Wyoming, United States. The station is owned by the Educational Media Foundation and airs its Air1 Christian worship music network. The station broadcast an oldies music format until August 12, 2010. Subsequently, operating a religious format, the station was taken silent on November 8, 2019, and sold to the Educational Media Foundation. History This station received its original construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission on August 22, 2005. The new station was assigned call letters KKRR by the FCC on September 9, 2008. KKRR received its license to cover from the FCC on August 27, 2008. KJJC (1230 AM) is a radio station licensed to Murray, Utah, United States. It serves the Salt Lake City area. The station is owned by Roger Lonnquist, through licensee Northwest Capital Corporation. The station shares its tower with KNIT. History The station began as KMUR, founded by Oral J. Wilkinson. The station was first licensed by the FCC on February 2, 1949. At that time, it was a low-power, 250 watt community station airing contemporary hits. During the 1960s, the power was increased to 1,000 watts daytime, the format switched to country western and the call letters were changed to KMOR. Its studios and transmitter were originally located at 4646 South State Street, a location that also housed Wilkinson's auto dealership, Zion Motors (Chrysler-Plymouth). KVXO (88.3 FM) is a radio station licensed to Fort Collins, Colorado, United States. The station is owned and operated by Public Broadcasting of Colorado, Inc. The station broadcasts a classical music format to the Ft. Collins-Greeley area. History The WAY-FM Media Group received the original construction permit for a new FM station in Ft. Collins, Colorado, from the Federal Communications Commission on June 7, 2002, almost six years after filing the initial application. The new station was assigned the call letters KWWY by the FCC on June 27, 2002. In October 2002, WAY-FM Media Group, Inc., applied to transfer the construction permit for this station to Colorado Christian University in compliance with their July 2001 consent agreement.
