KDLS-FM (105.5 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Perry, Iowa, and serving the Des Moines metropolitan area. It airs a Regional Mexican music radio format, known as "La Ley 105.5 FM." (La Ley translates to "The Law.") KDLS-FM is licensed to the Latin Broadcasting Company. The owners of the Latin Broadcasting Company, based in Taylor, Michigan, are Pres. Pedro Zamora of Brownstown, Michigan, and Vice Pres. Jorge O. Hernandez-Angulo of Morgan Hill, California. The transmitter and broadcast tower are located on West Avenue in Granger, Iowa, halfway between Perry and Des Moines. History On February 26, 1971, KDLS-FM first signed on. KDLS (1310 AM) is a commercial radio station serving the Perry, Iowa area. Until February 2010, the station broadcast Timeless Favorites. After the shutdown of Timeless Favorites at that same month, the station has broadcast primarily a Kool Gold format. Although both stations share the same call letters, KDLS AM does not have the same ownership as KDLS-FM. Until January 31, 2012, KDLS was licensed to Coon Valley Communications, Inc. Coon Valley Communications also owned KGRA 98.9 FM in Jefferson and KKRF 107.9 FM in Stuart. Coon Valley Communications was owned by Patrick Delaney of Perry. Brownstown Charter Township is a charter township in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 30,627 at the 2010 census. Brownstown was established in 1827, a decade prior to Michigan's Admission to the Union. In broadcasting and radio communications, a call sign (also known as a call name or call letters—and historically as a call signal—or abbreviated as a call) is a unique identifier for a transmitter station.
