Albuquerque International Sunport is the primary international airport serving the U.S. state of New Mexico, the Albuquerque metropolitan area, and the larger Albuquerque– Santa Fe–Las Vegas combined statistical area. KABQ (AM)
KABQ (1350 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc., and is airing a sports radio format as "Fox Sports 1350". It had been carrying all iHeart podcasts since 2019. KABQ's radio studios and offices are on NE Jefferson Street in Albuquerque. The transmitter is located off NW Montoya Street, also in Albuquerque. KABQ is powered at 5,000 watts by day using a non-directional antenna. To avoid interfering with other stations on AM 1350, it reduces power at night to 500 watts and uses a directional antenna, with a three- tower array. History KVER In 1947, the station signed on as KVER at 1490 kHz. It was owned by Intermountain Broadcasting and was powered at only 250 watts. KVER was a network affiliate of the Mutual Broadcasting System. The station moved to 1340 kHz in 1949. KABQ-FM (95.1 FM) is a commercial radio station located in Corrales, New Mexico, United States, broadcasting to the Albuquerque area. It broadcasts at full power from a tower atop Nine Mile Hill west of Albuquerque, with studios located in Northeast Albuquerque and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. (formerly Clear Channel Communications). KABQ-FM airs a rhythmic oldies format branded as "Hot 95.1" featuring Hip hop, R&B, and some dance-pop from the 1980s-2000's. The format started on January 2, 2014, on translator K265CA (100.9 FM), branded as "Hot 100.9". On November 3, 2014, the format moved to the then-KLQT. KKTH (104.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to the suburb of Bosque Farms, New Mexico, it serves the Albuquerque metropolitan area. The station is owned by Delmarva Educational Association. KKTH broadcasts a 100,000-watt signal from a site close to Belen, nearly 35 miles south of Albuquerque sending a signal that is a bit weak with some static on many radios (even car radios) in much of the city.
