KFBB-TV (channel 5) is a television station in Great Falls, Montana, United States, affiliated with ABC, Fox and MyNetworkTV. Owned by the Cowles Company, the station maintains studios and transmitter facilities on Old Havre Highway in Black Eagle, Montana. KHBB-LD (channel 21) in Helena operates as a semi-satellite of KFBB-TV. As such, it simulcasts all network and syndicated programming as provided through KFBB-TV, but airs separate commercial inserts and legal identifications. KHBB-LD's transmitter is located atop Copper Butte. Both stations offer Fox via their second digital subchannels (until 2009, only KHBB-LD did so, as Fox programming in Great Falls was seen on KLMN). The ''Great Falls Tribune'' is a daily morning newspaper printed in Helena, Montana. It is one of Montana's largest newspaper companies. History The first edition of the newspaper then called the ''Weekly Tribune'' was printed on May 14, 1885. Starting on May 16, 1887, the ''Tribune'' became a daily newspaper. On May 19, 1890, delivery switched from afternoon to morning. The ''Great Falls Tribune'' moved to a new printing facility on 2nd Street in 1916; it remained there until 1979, when it moved to the location at 205 River Drive South. In 2022, they moved to a warehouse space at 701 River Dr S #1. The Anaconda Company
The Anaconda Copper Mining Company, known as the Amalgamated Copper Company between 1899 to 1915, was an American mining company headquartered in Butte, Montana. It was one of the largest trusts of the early 20th century and one of the largest mining companies in the world for much of the 20th century. Marcus Daly bought the original silver mine, named the Anaconda, in 1880. Daly partnered with George Hearst, James Ben Ali Haggin and Lloyd Tevis in 1881 to develop it, and the company expanded dramatically in 1882 with the discovery of huge copper deposits. In 1883, Daly began building a smelter and the town of Anaconda to process copper mined in Butte. In 1899, with Hearst and Tevis deceased, Haggin retired and Daly restructured the company, into the Amalgamated Copper Company bringing in H H Rogers and William Rockefeller. KEIN
KEIN (1310 AM) is a comedy formatted radio station licensed to Great Falls, Montana, United States and serving the Great Falls area. The station is currently owned by Wayne Ferree & Creed Evans, through licensee Tiger Butte Broadcasting, Inc., and features programming from Today's Comedy. It was first licensed as KFBB in July 1922, and is Montana's oldest radio station. History KEIN was first licensed on July 11, 1922, to the F. A. Buttery & Company department store in Havre, Montana, with the sequentially issued call letters of KFBB. It made its debut broadcast on the evening of August 22, 1922. The Montana Television Network (MTN) is a statewide network of CBS affiliates in the U.S. state of Montana. It also includes one NBC station. All but one of these stations are owned by the E. W. Scripps Company. Five of the full-powered MTN stations—KTVQ, KXLF, KRTV, KPAX, and KTVH—carry programming from The CW Plus on their digital subchannels. In addition, MTN owns the Montana Ag Network, which provides farm and ranch reports on television. Established in 1969 in its current form by Montana broadcasting pioneer Joe Sample, MTN was originally conceived as a way to unify Montanans and connect the state's comparatively isolated population centers. Scripps Company alongside KTVH-DT, KTGF-LD (channel 50), the local NBC affiliate, and is part of the Montana Television Network (MTN), a statewide network of CBS-affiliated stations. KRTV's studios and transmitter are located on Old Havre Highway in Black Eagle, Montana, Black Eagle, just outside Great Falls. KLMN
KLMN, UHF analog channel 26, was a Fox- affiliated television station licensed to Great Falls, Montana, United States. The station was owned by Equity Media Holdings. History Founded on December 19, 2000, KLMN signed on in mid-2003 as a Fox affiliate, with additional programming from UPN. When Helena-based NBC affiliate KTVH bought a low-power repeater station in the Great Falls area in 2005, it caused an affiliation shake-up. Long-time NBC affiliate KTGF (now KJJC-TV) became an affiliate of Fox, leaving KLMN with only UPN programming. KLMN became a MyNetworkTV affiliate in September 2006. In May 2007, Fox programming abruptly returned to KLMN after nearly two years on KTGF, which might have been coincidental with KTGF's parent, Destiny Communications, entering a Joint Sales Agreement with KLMN.
