Owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, the station has studios on Rossanley Drive in northwest Medford, and its transmitter is located atop Mount Ashland, south of the city. History Channel 10 signed on the air on October 3, 1961 as KMED-TV, owned by Ray Johnson and his company, Radio Medford, Inc., along with KMED radio (1440 AM). Several groups contended for the second television station in the area, but Radio Medford received a substantial assist from Bill Smulin, owner of KTVM (channel 5, now KOBI), who offered Radio Medford space on KTVM's tower. The station is owned by Allen Media Broadcasting, and maintains studios on Knutson Avenue (near Rogue Valley International–Medford Airport) in north Medford; its transmitter is located at the edge of Wolf Creek Park in rural northeastern Josephine County (near Golden). KDKF (channel 31) in Klamath Falls operates as a full-time satellite of KDRV; this station's transmitter is located atop Stukel Mountain. KTVZ (channel 21) is a television station in Bend, Oregon, United States, serving Central Oregon as an affiliate of NBC and The CW Plus. It is owned by the News-Press & Gazette Company (NPG) alongside two low-power stations: Class A Fox affiliate KFXO-CD (channel 39) and Telemundo affiliate KQRE-LD (channel 20). The stations share studios on Northwest O. B. Riley Road in Bend, while KTVZ's transmitter is located on Awbrey Butte west of US 97. History KTVZ went on-the-air November 6, 1977.
