K. S. Ramaswamy Gounder
K. S. Ramaswamy Gounder ( ta, ராமசாமி கவுண்டர்) (1922 – 4 December 2004) was an Indian politician and former Member of Parliament elected from Tamil Nadu. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Gobichettipalayam constituency as an Indian National Congress candidate in 1957 and 1977 election. He was the union deputy minister for Home, Education and Social Welfare in Indira Gandhi's ministry. He is the son of the freedom fighter K.K Subbanna Gounder. Gobichettipalayam () is the Selection grade municipality in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the administrative headquarters of Gobichettipalayam taluk. It is situated at the center of the South Indian Peninsula, from the district headquarters Erode (Demanding Gobichettipalayam District), north of Tiruppur and east of Coimbatore. Agriculture and textile industries contribute majorly to the economy of the town and is popularly known as the rice bowl of western Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) is the wing of Indian National Congress serving in Tamil Nadu. The current president is K.S. Alagari. A knight is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a head of state (including the Pope) or representative for service to the monarch, the church or the country, especially in a military capacity. Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science & Higher Education for Women is a women's Deemed University in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. It was started in 1957 by the Avinashilingam Education Trust founded by T. S. Avinashilingam Chettiar as Avinashilingam Home Science College for Women which later grow into a university.
