K. Govindaraj
Kempareddy Govindaraj is a politician and sports administrator from Karnataka. He is a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council representing Indian National Congress. Early life Govindaraj hails from Bangalore. He played sports during his college days. He is a post graduate in political science and also did a diploma in Public Relations. Political career Govindaraj began his political journey in 1999 contesting the Shivajinagar Assembly constituency as a candidate of the Indian National Congress. He lost the 1999 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election losing to Katta Subramanya Naidu of BJP by a margin of 10,553 votes. He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly constituency in 2012. The Karnataka Legislative Council is the upper house of the bicameral legislature of Karnataka state in South Western India. The chief minister of Karnataka, formerly known as the chief minister of Mysore, is the chief executive officer of the government of the Indian state of Karnataka. Siddaramaiah (born 3 August 1947), also referred to by his nickname Siddu, Siddaramaiah served as Chief Minister of Karnataka from 13 May 2013 to 17 May 2018 and currently serving as the leader of the opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly since 9 December 2019. He belongs to Indian National Congress party and a member of Congress Working Committee. Siddaramaiah was a member of various Janata Parivar factions for several years.
