K.S.C. Hasselt
Koninklijke Sporting Club Hasselt was a Belgian football club. The matricule No. 37 was erased in 2001 after the merge with K.S.K. Kermt to become K.S.K. Kermt-Hasselt. The club played one season in the first division in 1979–80. Excelsior FC Hasselt was founded in 1906. The club joined UBSSA and acquired a licence and number. Excelsior FC Hasselt was promoted to Second Division in 1911 and played there for 3 seasons, until World War I. The club returned to Second Division from 1921 to 1924–25. At the end of the season, E.F.C. Hasselt was demoted. The club played in Third Division from 1925-30. Hasselt promoted to Second Division and stayed there till 1933. In 1933 the club received the royal title and became Royal Excelsior FC Hasselt. In 1938 Hasselt regained its spot in Second Division. The Belgian Second Division play-offs were a series of playoff matches to decide promotion to the Belgian Pro League, organised between 1974 and 2015. Following a large reform of the Belgian football league system at the end of the 2015–16 season, the play-offs were no longer held. In the earlier years these play-offs were contested by teams of the Belgian Second Division but since 2009 also a team from the Belgian Pro League took part. Four teams normally played these play-offs, with the winner being promoted to (or avoiding relegation from) the Belgian Pro League. Stijn Stijnen (; born 7 April 1981) is a Belgian retired professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, and the current manager of Patro Eisden Maasmechelen. He played in 189 Belgian Pro League games during thirteen seasons, mainly with Club Brugge with which he won nine major titles, including two national championships. A football team is a group of players selected to play together in the various team sports known as football. René Vandereycken
René Vandereycken (born 22 July 1953) is a Belgian football manager and a former player. He was the head coach of the Belgium national team from 1 January 2006 to 7 April 2009. Club career Vandereycken was born in Spalbeek. He played for Club Brugge, Genoa and Anderlecht. International career As a player, he got 50 caps and scored three goals for the Belgium national team, and represented Belgium at the Euro 1980, in the final of which he scored a penalty. Coaching career Vandereycken coached FC Twente as well as R.S.C. Anderlecht for some months and was fired by K.R.C. Genk in June 2005 after he managed to qualify the team for the UEFA Cup. Horst Blankenburg (born 10 July 1947) is a German former professional footballer, who played as a sweeper. He is best known for the early 1970s period, during which he played for Ajax and won the European Cup three times (1971, 1972, 1973), the European Super Cup twice (1972, 1973), the Intercontinental Cup once (1972) and the Dutch championship and the KNVB Cup twice.
