K-SAAM
The K-SAAM (Korean Surface to Air Anti Missile, ko, 해궁 "Haegung", Hanja: 海弓) is a South Korean medium range ship-based surface-to-air missile (SAM) system that is being developed by the Agency for Defense Development (ADD), LIG Nex1 and Hanhwa Defense. It features inertial mid-course guidance and a dual microwave and Infrared homing seeker for terminal guidance. It will replace RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM). It deployed on Daegu-class frigates and ROKS Marado. History Development started in 2011 which was extended for 2 more years after series of failures during testing in 2016 with testing in 2017 being deemed successful and questioned by anonymous source with knowledge involving evaluation test which referred to North Korean Kumsong-3 anti-ship missile as one of major threats for ROK navy's ships along with other neighbouring countries. Daegu-class Frigate
The ''Daegu''-class frigate (Hangul: 대구급 호위함, Hanja: 大邱級護衛艦) is a class of frigate, guided missile frigates of the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN). The ''Daegu'' class is based on the preceding , and has otherwise been referred to as the ''Incheon'' class batch II, or FFG-II. Eight ''Daegu''-class ships are planned, with the final goal of 20–22 frigates (of all types) in the ROKN. ROKS Marado
ROKS ''Marado'' (LPH-6112) is the second ship of the of the Republic of Korea Navy. Differences with ROKS ''Dokdo'' ''Marado'' was built with some changes compared to the lead ship . The flight deck is adapted to accommodate two V-22 Ospreys, while ''Dokdo'' was able to only carry one. In place of the Thales SMART-L multibeam radar and MW08 surveillance radar, ''Marado'' uses the Elta Systems EL/M-2248 MF-STAR multifunction surveillance radar and LIG Nex1 SPS-550K 3-D air and surface surveillance radar. It also has a different weapons suite than the 30 mm Goalkeeper and RAM, instead using two 20 mm Phalanx CIWS and having a K-VLS at the rear of the superstructure for the locally developed K-SAAM. The RIM-162 Evolved SeaSparrow Missile (ESSM) is a development of the RIM-7 Sea Sparrow missile used to protect ships from attacking missiles and aircraft. KM-SAM
The KM-SAM ( ko, 천궁 "Cheongung", Hanja: 天弓) which is also known as the Cheolmae-2 is a South Korean medium range surface-to-air missile (SAM) system that was developed by the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) with technical support from Almaz-Antey and Fakel, based on technology from the 9M96 missile used on S-350E and S-400 missile systems. Design and development A complete battery consists of four to six 8-cell transporter erector launchers (TELs), a passive electronically scanned array (PESA) X-band multi-function phased array 3D radar (based on the one from the Russian S-400), and a fire command vehicle. The radar operates in the X-band and rotates at a rate of 40 rpm, covering up to 80 degrees in elevation. It can detect targets within and track up to 40 simultaneously. CAMM (missile Family)
The CAMM (Common Anti-Air Modular Missile) is a family of surface-to-air missiles developed by MBDA UK for the United Kingdom. CAMM shares some common features and components with the ASRAAM air-to-air missile, but with updated electronics and an active radar homing seeker. The RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) is a small, lightweight, infrared homing surface-to-air missile in use by the German, Japanese, Greek, Turkish, South Korean, Saudi Arabian, Egyptian, Mexican, UAE, and U.S. Navies.
