K-Days
K-Days, formerly known as the Edmonton Exhibition, Klondike Days, and the Capital Ex, is an annual 10-day exhibition held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada mostly in late July. In recent years it has attracted between 700,000 and 800,000 visitors per year. It runs in conjunction with the Taste of Edmonton and – from 2006 through 2012 – the Edmonton Indy. The exhibition, hosted by Explore Edmonton beginning 2022, and hosted until 2019 by Northlands, is held at the Exhibition Lands adjoining Edmonton Expo Centre. Northlands (organization)
Edmonton Northlands, operating as Northlands, was a non-profit volunteer organization in Edmonton, Alberta. The organization owned exhibition grounds in northeast Edmonton collectively known as the Edmonton Northlands, which included venues such as the Northlands Park raceway, the Edmonton Expo Centre, and Rexall Place–the former home of the Edmonton Oilers. The organization also hosted the annual exhibition K-Days, and the agricultural show Farmfair International. Northlands began to decline in the 2010s after the construction of a new downtown arena—Rogers Place—which is operated by the Oilers, and took on most of the major indoor events that had previously been held at Rexall Place. Kitsch ( ; loanword from German) is a term applied to art and design that is perceived as naïve imitation, overly-eccentric, gratuitous, or of banal taste. Roger Tilton
Roger Tilton (1924-2011) was an American filmmaker and documentarian. Tilton has been recognized as a pioneer in the development of IMAX large screen film format due to his work in the Omnimax format in the 1970s and 1980s. A Taste Of Edmonton
Taste of Edmonton is an annual outdoor festival held in Edmonton, Alberta. In 2021, the festival will be held at Churchill Square (100 Street) as 2020 went on hiatus. The festival runs for 11 days, July 22nd – August 1st. Hours are 11:00–23:00 daily except for Aug. 1st, 11:00–21:00. Taste of Edmonton is the largest food and entertainment festival in Western Canada, welcoming more than 350,000 attendees together to sample the best local restaurants, chefs, food trucks, and alcoholic beverages - and to stay for an all-Canadian concert series. The festival was chosen as Edmonton's Favourite Festival in 2018 by PostMedia readers and a finalist for Tourism Event or Festival of the Year for the 2019 Alberta Tourism Awards.
