Jōnetsu (Ua Song)
is Japanese singer-songwriter Ua's fourth single, released on June 21, 1996. It served as ending theme for the TBS TV program ''M Navi''. "Jōnetsu" is regarded as the song that propelled Ua to stardom as well as being her biggest hit. With 5,700 units sold, it debuted at #60 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart and later peaked at #18, becoming Ua's first top 20 entry. The song was covered in a Mandarin Chinese version (Retitled "WuWuLaLaLa") by C-pop singer Coco Lee on her 1998 album, '' Sunny Day''. In 2005, urban singer-songwriter Miliyah Katō sampled "Jōnetsu" in her song of the same name. Rock band Glim Spanky is a Japanese Rock music, rock band from Nagano Prefecture, consisting of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Remi Matsuo and lead guitarist Hiroki Kamemoto. Ua (singer)
(born March 11, 1972), simply known by the stage name Ua (), is a Japanese singer. She made her debut under Speedstar Records in 1995 with the single "Horizon". Biography Ua was born Kaori Shima and grew up in Suita, Osaka. After graduating from Saga University of Arts in Kyoto, she worked as a lounge singer in her hometown. There in 1994, she was scouted by producer Hiroshi Fujiwara. She took on the unusual stage name of ''Ua'' (a Swahili word that means both "flower" and "kill") and made her debut with the Fujiwara-produced "Horizon". Her fourth single " Jōnetsu" became a smash hit and Ua was recognized all over Japan. After releasing her first album, ''11'', Ua married actor Jun Murakami and gave birth to a son, Nijirō, in 1997, who is also an actor. The couple divorced in 2006. Coco Lee (; born Ferren Lee, 17 January 1975) is a Hong Kong-American singer-songwriter, record producer, dancer, and actress. Lee's career began in Hong Kong and then expanded to Taiwan. Glim Spanky
is a Japanese Rock music, rock band from Nagano Prefecture, consisting of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Remi Matsuo and lead guitarist Hiroki Kamemoto. Originally formed in 2007 as a quartet, the group became a duo in February 2010. Their name comes from Matsuo's interest in Celts, Celtic culture and fantasy literature; she read a book describing a goblin's "wikt:glim, glim" and added "spank" to describe their aggressive drive towards the music industry. Their retro sound, reminiscent of 1960s and 1970s rock bands, has received praise from musicians such as Keisuke Kuwata, Motoharu Sano, and Maki Nomiya. Urban contemporary music, also known as urban music, hip hop, urban pop, or just simply urban, is a music radio format. The term was coined by New York radio DJ Frankie Crocker in the early to mid-1970s as a synonym for Black music.
