Jēkabs Rēdlihs
Jēkabs Rēdlihs (born March 29, 1982) is a Latvian ice hockey Defender currently playing for HK Kurbads in the Latvian Hockey League (LHL). Playing career Rēdlihs was selected in the fourth round 119th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Drafted from the New York Applecore of the EJHL, Rēdlihs then enrolled with Boston University of the Hockey East and completed a four-collegiate career with the Terriers earning Hockey East All-Rookie honors in his freshman year. After his 2005–06 senior season with the Hockey East champions, Rēdlihs made his professional debut when he signed an ATO contract with the Blue Jackets affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL on March 30, 2006. Un-signed by Columbus, Rēdlihs was invited to the Blue Jackets training camp for the 2006–07 season but was then reassigned to play with the Syracuse Crunch and second tier affiliate, the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL. Syracuse Crunch
The Syracuse Crunch are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). They play in Syracuse, New York, at the Upstate Medical University Arena. They are the primary development affiliate of the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning. History Vancouver and Pittsburgh affiliations (1994–2000) The franchise originated in 1992 as the Hamilton Canucks, which was an affiliate of the NHL's Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks played in Hamilton, Ontario, for two seasons, before relocating to upstate New York in 1994. They were then renamed the "Crunch" from a public vote that included five names. Boston University Men's Ice Hockey
The Boston University Terriers men’s ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team that represents Boston University. They played their first game in 1918 and have won five national championships, while making 22 appearances in the Frozen Four. BU has won 12 major conference tournament championships as well as 31 titles in the historic Beanpot tournament featuring the four major Boston collegiate hockey teams. BU played in the Eastern College Athletic Conference ( ECAC) from 1961 to 1984, winning five tournament championships; and has since competed in the Hockey East Association, winning seven tournament titles. Latvia National Ice Hockey Team
The Latvian men's national ice hockey team represents Latvia in international ice hockey. The team is ranked 10th in the world by IIHF as of 2019. The team is controlled by the Latvian Ice Hockey Federation. Their best ever finish at the World Championships was 7th place in 1997, 2004 and 2009. At the 2018 World Championship the team finished 8th. Latvia reached the quarterfinals at the 2014 Winter Olympics, losing 2–1 to Canada. Krišjānis Rēdlihs (born 15 January 1981) is a Latvian professional ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for HK Kurbads of the Latvian Hockey League (LHL). Playing career Krišjānis Rēdlihs started his playing career by playing for HK Liepājas Metalurgs in the Latvian hockey league and Eastern European Hockey League. In 2002, he unexpectedly made the Latvia men's national ice hockey team for 2002 Ice Hockey World Championships. Following the World Championships, Rēdlihs was drafted in 2002 NHL Entry Draft by New Jersey Devils, in the 5th round, 154th overall. The Czech Extraliga ( cs, Extraliga ledního hokeje, ELH) is the highest-level ice hockey league in the Czech Republic. It was created by the 1993 split of the Czechoslovak First Ice Hockey League following the breakup of Czechoslovakia. Elmira Jackals
The Elmira Jackals were a professional minor league ice hockey team based in Elmira, New York. They were members of the United Hockey League from 2000 to 2007 and the ECHL from 2007 to 2017. The Jackals played their home games at First Arena. ECHL
The ECHL (formerly the East Coast Hockey League) is a mid-level professional ice hockey league based in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, with teams scattered across the United States and Canada. It is a tier below the American Hockey League (AHL). Dayton Bombers
The Dayton Bombers were an ECHL ice hockey team located in Dayton, Ohio. The team most recently was in the North Division of the ECHL's American Conference. The Bombers originally played at Hara Arena from 1991 to 1996. The team moved to the Ervin J. Nutter Center on the campus of Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio, in 1996. On March 30, 2009, it was announced that the Bombers would not be playing during the 2009–10 season. Despite the arrival of the International Hockey League's Dayton Gems, the Bombers had not folded nor planned to relocate at that time, and continued to aim towards securing additional investors and season ticket holders to play in Dayton again for 2010–11. However, on June 25 of that year, the Bombers' owner turned the team's membership back to the ECHL, citing lack of a suitable business partner or re-entry plan.
