Jüri Pootsmann
Jüri Pootsmann (born 1 July 1994), is an Estonian singer. He won the sixth season of ''Eesti otsib superstaari'', and Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Play (Jüri Pootsmann song), Play". He is signed to Universal Music Group, Universal Music Baltics. Career 2015: ''Eesti otsib superstaari'' In February 2015, Pootsmann took part in the sixth season of ''Eesti otsib superstaari'', an Estonian version of ''Pop Idol'' airing on TV3 (Estonia), TV3. He won the show on 31 May 2015 when his debut single "Torm (Jüri Pootsmann song), Torm" was released. It peaked at number seven in the Raadio Uuno, Estonian Airplay Chart. On 15 November 2015 he released the single "Aga Siis", peaking at number one in the Raadio Uuno, Estonian Airplay Chart. On 20 November 2015, he released his debut self-titled extended play. Raikküla
Raikküla is a village in Rapla Parish, Rapla County in northwestern Estonia. Between 1991–2017 (until the administrative reform of Estonian local governments) the village was located in Raikküla Parish. Geologist and paleontologist Alexander Keyserling (1815–1891) lived in Raikküla Manor since 1847. Anton Raadik, the most famous Estonian born Middleweight boxer of the 1940s and 1950s was born in Raikküla. Estonia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2021
Estonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song " The Lucky One" written by Uku Suviste and Sharon Vaughn. The song was performed by Uku Suviste. The Estonian broadcaster (ERR) organised the national final in order to select the Estonian entry for the 2021 contest in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The national final consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. Twelve songs competed in each semi-final and six from each semi-final as determined by a jury panel and public vote qualified to the final. In the final, the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. In the first round, a jury panel and a public vote selected the top three to qualify to the superfinal. In the superfinal, "The Lucky One" performed by Uku Suviste was selected as the winner entirely by a public vote. Verona (song)
"Verona" is an English-language song performed by Estonian singers Koit Toome and Laura. The song represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. It was written by Sven Lõhmus. The song was released as a digital download on 30 January 2017. The song's title and lyrics directly reference the Italian city of Verona. Eesti Laul 2017 Toome and Laura were confirmed to be taking part in ''Eesti Laul 2017'', Estonia's national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, on 8 November 2016. They competed in the second semi-final on 18 February 2017, and placed second, placing first with televoters and fifth with juries. In the final, held on 4 March, they advanced to the superfinal after placing second, winning the televote once again and placing sixth with juries. Laura Põldvere
Laura Põldvere (formerly Remmel; born 30 August 1988) sometimes known professionally as simply Laura, is an Estonian singer. She is said to be the most played Estonian artist on Estonian radio in the past decade. She is internationally known for representing Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 as part of the girl group Suntribe and did so again in in a duet with Koit Toome, singing "Verona." Career Laura started her career in 2005, when she participated in Eurolaul 2005 with the song "Moonwalk". "Moonwalk" came second, but Laura won the contest as the member of the girl group Suntribe. Suntribe represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, but failed to advance to the final. Koit Toome
Koit Toome (born 3 January 1979), is an Estonian singer and musical actor. He has twice represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest. In Eurovision Song Contest 1998, 1998 he finished 12th with the song "Mere lapsed". In Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, 2017 he sang a duet with Laura Põldvere, entitled "Verona (song), Verona". Career Koit Toome was discovered in the music school in 1994 by the music producer Mikk Targo who was initially planning to launch a solo career for Koit. It later turned out that Koit's schoolmate and initial backing vocalist Sirli Hiius harmonized perfectly with Koit. Due to this, Koit's solo turned into a pop duo, Code One, which enjoyed a successful run of top hits that over the years have become evergreens. Estonia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 27 times since making its debut in 1994. Its first appearance would have taken place in 1993 but a qualification round was installed for seven former Eastern Bloc countries hoping to make their debut in the contest, with Estonia failing to qualify. Elina Born
Elina Born (born 29 June 1994) is an Estonian singer. She represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 along with Stig Rästa with the song " Goodbye to Yesterday". She previously attempted to represent Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 with the song "Enough", and attempted to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017 finishing last in the final.
