Jörg Friedrich (architect)
Jörg Friedrich (born 1951 in Erfurt) is a German architect. Career He received his degree as an architect in 1978 at the University of Stuttgart. Following collaboration with the architects, Peter Poelzig and Joachim Schürmann in their offices in Berlin and Cologne, he became independent in 1980 with an office in Venice, together with Bernd Sammek, Jürgen Böge and Ingeborg Lindner. Following his work together with Luitpold Frommel at the Max Planck Institute in Rome 1984/85, Jörg Friedrich established the international office of architecturepfp-architects with its headquarters in Hamburg, later also with offices in Genoa and Rome. Jörg Friedrich assumed the position of lecturer at the History of Arts Institutes at the Universities of Hamburg (1983-1986), of Genoa, of Rome and of Wuppertal. German Architecture Museum
The German Architecture Museum (german: Deutsches Architekturmuseum, links=no) (DAM) is located on the Museumsufer in Frankfurt, Germany. Housed in an 18th-century building, the interior has been re-designed by Oswald Mathias Ungers in 1984 as a set of "elemental Platonic buildings within elemental Platonic buildings". It houses a permanent exhibition entitled "From Ancient Huts to Skyscrapers" which displays the history of architectural development in Germany. The museum organises several temporary exhibitions every year, as well as conferences, symposia and lectures. The Association of German Architects (German: ''Bund Deutscher Architekten'', BDA) is an association of architects founded in 1903 in Germany. It publishes the bimonthly magazine ''der architekt''. The BDA has over 5,000 members. In 1995, it founded the German Architecture Centre DAZ (current director Matthias Böttger) in Berlin. History The association was founded on June 21, 1903 in Frankfurt am Main to protect the interests of freelance architects against real estate speculators and building contractors and to promote the quality of architecture.
